Features of the powder preparation

Powders for colds are the most effective. "Teraflu" is a combined remedy. Its effectiveness is determined by the composition. This drug has antihistamine, antitussive, analgesic, vasoconstrictive, sedative, bronchodilating and antipyretic effects. He quickly reduces the severity of signs of colds.

Under the influence of active substances, the drug eliminates hyperemia of the mucous membranes of the paranasal sinuses, nasal cavity and nasopharynx. Also, the medicine reduces local exudative manifestations, puffiness and narrows the lumen of the vessels.

The principle of paracetamol is the violation of the formation of prostaglandins, which occurs due to non-selective blocking of enzymes cyclooxygenases. This substance selectively affects the center of thermoregulation, changing the threshold of temperature sensitivity. Due to this effect, there is antipyretic, analgesic and insignificant anti-inflammatory effects.

Pheniramine maleate acts on the human body anti-allergic. After binding to histamine H1-receptors, this substance eliminates the effects of histamine. In practice, this effect is manifested in the reduction of local signs of respiratory tract infection, which manifest themselves as hypersecretion of mucus, mucosal edema, lacrimation and itching in the nose.

Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a selective alpha 1-adrenomimetic. After communication with the receptors of blood vessels, this substance causes their local constriction, i.e., vasoconstriction. As a result, the patient eliminates such unpleasant signs of a cold, as redness of the mucosa and swelling. In addition, drainage of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses improves, and nasal secretion also normalizes.

It should also be noted that some of the variants of the drug "Teraflu" include ascorbic acid. This component is designed to strengthen the walls of blood vessels, as well as to increase the protective forces of the immune system. This element is an antioxidant and takes an active part in protecting cell membranes.

"Teraflu" or "Fervex": what is better?

It is rather difficult to answer this question. After all, both products are intended to eliminate symptoms of acute respiratory viral infection and influenza in a short time. According to the responses of patients, these funds are equally effective in coping with the task. However, according to the majority, "Teraflu" manifests itself much better, as it contains all the necessary active components to eliminate signs of infectious diseases. Although many experts note that "Ferveks" should also not be written off. Due to the presence in it of a large amount of vitamin C, it helps to increase immunity, which ultimately leads the patient to complete recovery. However, in its composition, "Fervex" does not have any components that would help with nasal congestion. At the same time, it is the most expensive of all the above drugs.

Thus, it is up to an experienced specialist to decide what to treat for a cold, based on the symptomatology of the disease and the medical examination data.
