Analysis of the poem "Wait for me, and I'll be back" K. Simonov. Military lyrics

Poem of the poet Konstantin Simonov "Wait for me, and I will return" - a text that became one of the symbols of a terrible war that ended in 1945. In Russia, it is known almost from memory almost from childhood and is repeated from mouth to mouth, recalling the courage of Russian women who were expecting sons and husbands from the war, and the valor of men who fought for their own homeland. Listening to these lines, it is impossible to imagine how the poet managed to combine in several stanzas the death and horrors of war, all-embracing love and endless faithfulness. This is only true talent.

About the poet

The name of Konstantin Simonov is a pseudonym. From birth, the poet was called Cyril, but his diction did not allow him to pronounce his name without problems, so he picked up a new one, retaining the initial, but excluding the letters "p" and "l". Konstantin Simonov is not only a poet, but also a prose writer, his pen contains novels and novels, memoirs and essays, plays and even scripts. But he is famous for his poetry. Most of his works were created in military subjects. This is not surprising, because the life of the poet from the very childhood is connected with the war. His father died during the First World War, his mother's second husband was a military specialist and a former colonel of the Russian Imperial Army. Simonov himself served as a military correspondent for a while , fought at the front and even had the rank of colonel. The poem "All his life he loved drawing a war", written in 1939, most likely has autobiographical features, as it unequivocally intersects with the life activities of the poet. It is not surprising that Simonov is close to the feelings of a simple soldier who misses his beloved and loved ones during the heavy battles. And if you analyze the poem "Wait for me and I'll be back," you can see how alive and personal are the lines. The important thing is how subtly and sensually Simonov succeeds in conveying them in his works, describing all the tragedy and horror of military consequences without resorting to excessive naturalism.

The most famous work

Of course, the best way to illustrate the work of Konstantin Simonov is his most famous poem. The analysis of the poem "Wait for me and I will return" should begin with the question of why it became so. Why is it so stuck in the soul of the people, why is it now firmly associated with the author's name? After all, the poet did not even plan to publish it. Simonov wrote it for himself and for himself, more precisely about a specific person. But in the war, and especially in such a war as the Great Patriotic War, it was impossible to exist alone, all people became brothers and shared with each other the most intimate, knowing that perhaps these will be their last words. Simonov, wanting to support his comrades at a difficult hour, recited his verses to them, and the soldiers listened to them with fascination, copied, memorized and whispered in the trenches, like a prayer or as an incantation. Probably, Simonov managed to catch the most secret and intimate experiences of not only a simple fighter, but also every person. "Wait, and I'll be back, just wait very much" - the main idea of all wartime literature , what the soldiers most wanted to hear about.

Military literature

During the war in literary creativity, an unprecedented rise occurred. Many works of military subjects were published: stories, novellas, novels and, of course, poems. The verses were remembered more quickly, they could be imposed on music and performed at a difficult hour, passed from mouth to mouth, repeated to oneself as a prayer. Verses of military themes became not just folklore, they wore a sacred meaning.

Lyrics and prose raised the already strong spirit of the Russian people. In a sense, the poems pushed the soldiers to exploit, inspired, gave strength and deprived of fear. Poets and writers, many of whom themselves participated in military operations or discovered their poetic talent in the dugout or tank of the tank, understood how important it is for the fighters to have universal support, to glorify the common goal of saving the homeland from the enemy. That is why the works that appeared in large numbers at the time were attributed to a separate branch of literature - military lyrics and military prose.

Analysis of the poem "Wait for me, and I'll be back"

In the poem in multiple ways - 11 times - the word "wait" is repeated, and it's not just a request, it's a plea. 7 times in the text are used single-root words and word forms: "waiting", "waiting", "waiting", "waiting", "waiting", "waiting." Wait, and I'll be back, just wait very much - this concentration of the word is like a spell, the poem is imbued with desperate hope. It seems that the soldier has completely entrusted his life to the one who stayed at home.

Also, if you analyze the poem "Wait for me, and I'll be back," you can see that it is dedicated to a woman. But not the mother or the daughter, but the beloved wife or the bride. The soldier asks not to forget him in any case, even when the children and mothers have no hope left, even when they drink bitter wine for the remembrance of his soul, he asks not to remember it with them, but to continue to believe and wait. Waiting is equally important for those who stayed in the rear, and first of all for the soldier himself. The belief in infinite devotion inspires him, gives him confidence, forces him to cling to life and pushes the fear of death to the background: "Do not understand, not waiting for them, how you saved me from the fire of your expectation". The soldiers in battle were alive and alive, they realized that they were waiting at home, that they could not die, it was necessary to return.

1418 days, or about 4 years, lasted the Great Patriotic War, 4 times the seasons changed: yellow rains, snow and heat. During this time, do not lose faith and wait for the fighter after so much time - a real feat. Konstantin Simonov understood this, that is why the poem was drawn not only to the fighters, but also to all those who until the last kept hope in their souls, believed and waited, in spite of everything, "all the deaths willed."
