Abstract: Pushkin, The Bronze Horseman. The fate of the "little man"
Pushkin's work The Bronze Horseman narrates about the fate of the petty official Yevgeny. But in it there is one more protagonist - a monument to Peter I. The poem begins with the fact that on the bank of the Neva there is a king planning to build a city here and cut a window to Europe. A century passes - and on the site of marshy swamps and dense forests, Peter's creation, which identifies light and harmony, has replaced darkness and chaos.
Events preceding trouble. Summary
Pushkin "The Bronze Horseman" wrote to show the fate of an individual person. On a late November night, a small official, Yevgeny, returns home. Once his family was noble and rich, but now the young man has to live in poverty, rent a room in the poorest part of the city and suffer a series of gray and monotonous everyday life. Eugene can not fall asleep for a long time, annoyed that bridges from the incoming river have been removed, and he will not be able to see his beloved Parasha, who lives on the opposite shore for two days. The hero dreams of a modest but happy life with his family, together with his beloved wife and children. So, in a world of dreams, he falls asleep.
The battle of the elements with man. Summary
Pushkin "The Bronze Horseman" composed to show how weak people are compared to nature. The day brought with it a misfortune - the wind blocked the way the river into the bay, and the Neva poured into Petersburg, flooding it. The bad weather did not calm down, the waves raged like enemy troops. The townspeople saw God's wrath in all this and awaited punishment with fear. Even the king went to the balcony to admit defeat before the elements.
Personal grief of a particular person. Summary
Pushkin "The Bronze Horseman" wrote to show the difficult fate of man and the indifference of society to the misfortune of other people. As soon as the Neva enters the banks, Eugene goes to the house of Parasha. The boatman passes it to the other shore, the hero runs along familiar streets and does not recognize them - bodies are lying around, houses are destroyed. Here is a familiar willow, growing at the gate of her beloved, but the gate itself is not there, and at home too. Eugene could not stand the shock and laughed, losing his mind.
A year passes, and one autumn evening the hero remembers the storm and the one who is to blame for the death of his beloved - the Bronze Horseman, because he founded the city at the very water. A young man in anger threatens the monument, but suddenly sees how he rides on the horse directly to him. Eugene runs away, but the sound of hoofs hears from everywhere. The poem ends with the death of the hero. His cold corpse was found by fishermen on a deserted island and immediately buried.
