Alexander Dolsky, biography

Born poet and musician in the city of Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk) June 7, 1938 in the family of an opera singer-tenor and ballerina. Father (Dolsky Alexander Viktorovich) was a soloist of the Sverdlovsk Opera and Ballet Theater, her mother - a graduate of the Leningrad Vaganova School of Choreography.

Sasha's musical talent manifested itself in his early childhood, he easily remembered the melodies, then interpreted the songs in his own way. At the age of ten he came on stage, began to perform in the theater choir of boys. Participated in the musical accompaniment of opera performances "Carmen" and "Queen of Spades."

In his school years he learned to play many instruments, but he gave preference to the guitar. In 1949 the young Alexander Dolsky wrote his first song. At that time, music was his hobby, and the future poet started his working career in the repair shop of the "Uralelectroapparat" plant, where he worked as a toolmaker for two years (1956 - 1958).

Then twenty-year-old Alexander Dolsky entered the Sverdlovsk Polytechnic Institute for the Faculty of Construction. At the end of the course he became a graduate student of the engineering and economic department.

Musical education

Alexander Dolsky prefers not to study scientific activity, began to take lessons in guitar class from the teacher of the stringed instruments L. Voinov. The training was difficult, the teacher proved to be extremely demanding and uncompromising. Dolsky spent eight hours a day mastering the technique of the game.

In 1952, Alexander Dolsky became the prize-winner of the first post-war rally of variety artists, where he took second place in the competition for playing the guitar.

Since 1966 Dolsky participated in several festivals of the author's song. Then the poet decided to devote himself entirely to art and made a program of solo concert activity. In the seventies the songs of Alexander Dolsky began to gain popularity.

In 1970, the bard moved to Leningrad and got a job in a town planning research institute, as a singer and songwriter went on short tours and met with his listeners. In 1979, Dolsky finally made a choice in favor of the song and music genre. In the same year, he is invited to work in his "Theater of Miniatures" Arkady Raikin.

Recognition and popularity

In 1980, two important events took place in the life of Alexander Dolsky: he was accepted as a member of the Union of Writers, the first record entitled "The Star in the Palm" was published. A few years later, the bard begins to travel with concerts to the countries of Western Europe and the United States.

The success of the author of the song is unprecedented, the records are sold out in millions of copies, the concerts are collected by thousands of audiences. At present, about twenty albums with Dolsky's songs have been released.

Also the musician wrote a cycle of songs for Russian cinema. Among these works are soundtracks for the films "Tavern on Pyatnitskaya", "Elder Son", "Novaya Sheherezada", "When the Saints march". In addition to the songs, several poetic collections have been published: "Four angels", "Stone Songs", "Blessing", "Blue Self-Portrait", "While You Live".

Dolsky is a laureate of the Okudzhava literary state award. Currently, he is an active member of the Writers' Union of Russia, he is a member of the editorial board of the "Metropol" almanac.

Personal life

Dolsky Alexander is married. His wife's name is Dolsky Nadezhda Alexandrovna. There are three adult sons: Peter, Alexander and Paul. Currently, the family lives in St. Petersburg.

The poet is fond of painting. From time to time in the city there are exhibitions where art canvases written by his hand are displayed. The paintings look as if they were made by a professional artist.
