Airports of Crimea. Useful information for travelers

Even in Soviet times, Crimea was a favorite holiday destination for the inhabitants of our vast country. However, it remains so today. And this is a completely logical explanation. The peninsula Crimea is not only one of the most picturesque places on our planet, but also a well-known health resort in the whole world. That is why thousands of tourists come here, and Russians are also among them. At the same time I want to get to the destination quickly and with comfort, and many prefer to travel to Crimea by plane.

However, not everyone knows which Crimea airports accept airliners from Russia. In order to broaden the horizons of Russian travelers, let us consider the question of which air terminals are generally located on the above-mentioned peninsula.

It should be noted that each year the airports of the Crimea serve more than thirty thousand passengers who prefer to travel by plane. In total there are three air terminals on the peninsula. She is in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Kerch. Many are primarily interested in the question of where in the Crimea the airport that accepts overseas flights. It is located in the city of Simferopol.

This international air terminal was built in 1936. Relatively recently, the press reported that Ukrainian officials intend to build in the Yevpatoriya zone another airport terminal of international importance and, in parallel, to modernize the facility located in Kerch, in order to give it the same status. How quickly these projects will be implemented is not known.

Despite the fact that the airports of the Crimea are represented by three large objects, the status of the international point for receiving air services has only one. He, as already stressed, is located in Simferopol. From here airliners go to the largest foreign cities: Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt am Main, Warsaw, Tashkent, Yerevan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk.

This terminal consists of several small buildings, namely: the arrival terminal, terminals for the departure of domestic and international flights, diplomatic business hall.

The airport in Kerch is located in the north-western part of the city. The area of the object is 320 hectares, it began functioning in 1944. In Soviet times, from here, air communication was carried out with such large cities as Krasnodar, Moscow, Kiev, Simferopol. Most recently, the airport was declared bankrupt.

It should be noted that on the peninsula there is, in addition to Simferopol airport, another object of international importance - the air terminal Belbek, but it was originally intended as a building for the deployment of military aviation. It is located in the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol, directly on the sea coast. It was built in 1941. In the first half of the 90s civil air transportations, including international ones, began to be performed here. In the period from 2002 to 2007, passengers through the "Belbek" were no longer transported, and only after three years the transportation of people resumed again. Currently, the terminal maintains flights to Kiev and Moscow.

Many tourists are sure that the airports of Crimea offer tickets for planes at an unreasonably high price in comparison with those sold at the ticket offices of railway stations. However, the latest statistics show that the management of JSCo «Russian Railways» has increased the cost of travel. In particular, the price of air travel on the route Moscow - Simferopol will be insignificantly different from the cost of the ticket in the compartment car. However, the difference in the speed of movement is significant: several hours of flight do not go to any comparison with twenty-eight hours or more by train.

It should be noted that the question of which airports are in the Crimea is relevant not only for tourists, but also for those who come to Ukraine for business purposes. To save time, entrepreneurs and businessmen simply need to know which routes are optimal and which airport will be most convenient, since everyone knows the postulate "time is money".
