Agrofiber - what is it? Application of agricultural fiber

The use of a new polymer material called "agrovolokno" assists in obtaining high yields at minimal cost. What is it, already know many truck farmers, tk. Recently it is gaining increasing popularity. This material is able to create optimal conditions for effective growth and increase the yield of plants.

What is agrovolokno

This lightweight and durable material, also known as spunbond, is made from a stabilized polypropylene having a very fine structure. It is non-toxic, it is not able to accumulate and release harmful substances into the environment, it is resistant to ultraviolet rays. It has an external resemblance to the usual cloth cloth. Technical carbon, which is part of the agglomerate, absorbs a sufficient amount of heat, which contributes to the rapid warming of the soil. In various versions - as a covering material or a mulching film - agrofibers can be used. The application is carried out depending on its type.

Varieties and characteristics

The main feature of spunbond is its density. The weight of the material depends directly on it. The denser the shelter, the heavier it is and better able to protect plants from more severe frosts.

White agrovolokno, designed to cover greenhouses and plants, well passes the sun's rays, air and moisture, retains heat, protecting the planting from cold and ultraviolet rays.

Serves mainly mulching material, helping to cope with the reproduction of weeds, black agrobiol. What it is? The material is a homogeneous structure that is used directly for sheltering the soil. It does not let sunlight pass, so nothing grows under it, and at the same time free air and water are provided. Thus, agrofiber deprives the life of weeds and improves the climate in the soil. It is quite strong and able to serve no less than 4-5 years.

Benefits

Of the main characteristics of agrofiber, its significant advantages over other ground cover materials. The ability of spunbond to pass moisture and air ensures good development of crops. Such a "breathing" material does not allow overheating of plants in hot weather and protects from low temperatures, keeping heat much better than greenhouse film. Some brands of spunbond can be used even as a winter shelter. In the struggle for the safety of the crop from birds and insect pests, this material will also be of invaluable assistance.

Cultivation of the majority of agricultural crops under agrofiber allows to significantly reduce labor costs due to the fact that there is no need to clean the weeds and loosen the soil. In addition, the absence of fungal diseases affecting plants, eliminates the additional treatment of fungicides. Harvest using this material appears two weeks earlier. The porous structure of agrofiber allows watering plants and fertilizing without removing the coating. Quite an important factor is the economic benefit, which, compared to other materials, gives the agricultural fiber. The price depends on the density of the material and varies within 4-50 rubles per running meter.

Black Spunbond

This is a mulching agrovolokno, the main purpose of which is the control of weeds. It is especially convenient to use it when growing strawberries and strawberries. The material is spread on the surface of the prepared soil, after which small cruciform wells are cut into it, into which the seedlings are planted. With this agrofiber you can cover the gaps between the rows or the trunks of bushes and trees.

Due to the fact that the soil under it is warming up well, the development of the root system is much faster, and in winter, under such a shelter, it is well preserved. Evaporation of moisture is much less, and therefore, there is no need for frequent watering. In addition, this material protects the soil from compaction and the appearance of mold. The absence of contact with the ground berries and fruits keeps them clean and reduces the possibility of decay. Agrofiber black is an environmentally friendly material, harmless to humans and plants. On sites with perennial crops, it can be year-round.

White agrofibre

What is it, is well known to modern gardeners who cultivate such crops as figs, grapes, pomegranate in the central part of Russia. Spunbond is the best protection of plants against frost, cold dew, hail, sunburn and pests. A light cloth with a homogeneous structure has a different density and is used to obtain a full-fledged harvest of vegetables, fruits and berries. The most dense agrovolokno used for sheltering perennials in the winter as a protection against frost and wind. Use it and to tighten the spring greenhouses to get the thermos effect.

Agrofiber white, as a rule, does not require the creation of structures in the form of arcs or greenhouses. To create the optimal microclimate for plants, it is enough to cover them from above, fixing the canvas along the edges. It is especially effective to use this material when growing strawberries. Plants get enough air and moisture, and the berries ripen clean and beautiful. Significantly reduced and the death of shoots, which often occurs as a result of the greenhouse effect. For trees, bushes and any vegetable and fruit plants, universal agglomeration is a universal shelter. Its price is slightly higher than the cost of the film, but still use this material is much more profitable, because He can serve for many years. And if you take into account the receipt of higher and early crops, saving time on caring for planting, the advantages of agrofiber are unquestionable.

How to decide on an option for growing strawberries

Cover material differs not only in color, but in density and purpose. The choice of the appropriate option is based on the tasks that need to be solved with its help. For mulching the soil, when growing strawberries, it is better to use black agglomerates with a density of 60 g / m 2 . The width is selected taking into account the size of the bed.

If it is necessary to protect the plant from adverse weather conditions without creating additional structures, white agglomerates are recommended, whose density is 17 g / m 2 . It can be used simply by covering plants from above. On temporary structures and on the open ground, as well as in greenhouses, a cover cloth with a density of 30 g / m 2 is very well proven.

Agrofibers for strawberries are used to increase yields, accelerate the ripening of berries, and also to save bushes in bad weather. As the density of the material increases, the degree of protection of the plant increases. Therefore, when selecting agrofiber, it is necessary to take into account the climatic conditions of the region.

Soil preparation and planting of seedlings

Before planting strawberries, soil should be properly fertilized with humus and ash. After that, carefully loosen it to a depth of 30 cm and form ridges that need to be covered with agrofiber, fixing it with stones or other improvised material. At a distance of about 25 cm on the cover cuts are made, under which small holes are formed to plant strawberries.

In spring it is recommended to plant strawberries in small bushes. And in autumn it is better to do this with seedlings. Planting of seedlings can be made directly in cups, then plants get accustomed much better. The wells in this case are prepared deeper. While doing planting, it is not recommended to move around the agrofiber to avoid shortening its service life. Special tracks should be made. This is suitable for ordinary boards or paving slabs.

Care of plants

Strawberry under agrofiber does not require any special care compared to crops that are in the open ground. When the growing season begins, it is necessary to make additional fertilizing with complex fertilizers. Then it is carried out again in August for the laying of the future harvest.

Watering is best done with the help of drip irrigation. This is the most economical and efficient way that minimizes the cost of electricity and water, and reduces the amount of fertilizer applied. Even during hot weather, up to seven days is capable of retaining moisture in the agglomerates. For strawberries, undesirable excess moisture, contributing to the appearance of rot and mold. Therefore, watering is much less common than under normal conditions.

Storage

Compliance with the rules of storage of agricultural fiber and careful attitude to the product allows using it for 3-4 seasons. After removing the material from the plants, it should be shaken properly, then carefully dried and folded. It is recommended to store agrofiber in a dry and dark place. Otherwise, the material may completely lose its effectiveness. The moisture that has fallen in together with the earth during storage can cause rotting, making it unfit to use agrovolokno. The use of such material in the future can lead to disease and even plant death. We must remember this.

Many amateur gardeners and large farms have already managed to appreciate the advantages of such a coating as agrofibre. What is it and how to properly use it to get the maximum effect, many already know from their own practice. An irreplaceable assistant was this material in the fight against frost, scorching sun and other negative natural conditions.
