Adjusting the speed of the bicycle: the features of the process

The mechanism of switching of speeds is very important element of modern sports and mountain bicycles. There are many different systems, but the principle of their adjustment is almost the same. To begin with, set the lowest speed. Now you need to slightly loosen the cable and twist the screw with the inscription "L". In this way, you adjust the required distance between the star and the frame. After that, the cable can be fixed back. Now you can set the maximum speed with a screw with the designation "H".

After all the settings, you should check the bike in motion. If the chain does not jump well enough from one star to another, adjust the cable. Adjustment of the gear shift on the bicycle should be made at the first detection of problems. For example, if the chain skips during the scrolling of the pedals, then in this case it is necessary to completely change it, since it is stretched. In this case, it should not be tilted during the switching of speeds.
