Bullet Polev 12 caliber. Bullets 12 calibers: reviews, photos

Hunting will never stop attracting a person. Methods, weapons and ammunition are being improved. Bullet Polev 12 caliber is widely used by hunters in the post-Soviet space. Against the background of other products of the twelfth caliber, it compares favorably in its performance. This concerns the accuracy of shooting and accuracy.

History

Bullet Polev 12 caliber was created in the early eighties of last century. The author of the sub-caliber bullet was the designer Viktor Vladimirovich Polev. At his request at the Kirov factory of fishing and hunting equipment (he was subordinate to the Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz), tests were carried out.

Designed and manufactured Field equipment (the first name "Victoria") had its own peculiarity. The design of the lead bullet was designed in such a way that the inevitable deformation during the shot was used to secure it firmly to the dust stabilizer.

Structure

Bullet Poleva 12 caliber is designed for smooth-bore weapons, refers to the switch type - a lead detachable element, fastened with a plastic shank. In order to improve the sealing of the barrel bore during the shot (obturation) and for better passage of the bullet itself, a plastic container is put on the lead lead part (after separation from the barrel it is separated from it).

Bullet Poleva 12 caliber has three parts.

  • The bullet is made of lead alloy. There are options for production of brass and steel. It has the shape of a cone, and a rod is located on the bottom. He fixes it in the plastic shank.
  • The shank, which is also a stabilizer, is made of high-density polyethylene. The front cylindrical part has a blind hole for the bullet rod. Inclined ribs (usually six) give the ammunition in flight a rotational movement. The shank serves as an obturator (prevents gas breakthrough).
  • The container of the two halves with equipment is put on the head and inserted into the sleeve. The structure of the container has features: the inner upper part is made in the form of a cone. The lower part has a thickening and rests on the fin shanks. When the projectile takes off from the muzzle, the container is divided into two parts and flies off the bullet.

Kinds

Bullet 12 caliber Poleva quickly gained popularity among hunters. The author created several more modifications of his creation:

  • Bullet Poleva- 2 - has a smaller diameter of the head part, somewhat differentiated detachment wool-obturator and shank;
  • The Polevá-3 bullet is distinguished by a flat head with an expansive emptiness, which greatly facilitates deformation in collision with the target;
  • Bullet Poleva- 4 - equipped with an expansive funnel (in the bow), has a mass of 40 grams (used to shoot large animals);
  • Bullet Paleva-6 - a relatively recent development, removable wad helps to compensate for the difference in the diameter of the barrels in weapons of 12 caliber.

Today, there are several other variants of Polev's bullet on the market, they were created by various developers.

Equipment of the cartridge

Equipment cartridges bullet Polev traditional:

  • Powder is covered in the encapsulated liner;
  • Bullet assembled into the sleeve with the shipment to gunpowder;
  • It is fixed in the sleeve (manufacturer's recommendation - "shalashikom") taking into account the length of the chamber.

If the cartridge shell is shorter than the cartridge chamber by 3.5 mm, it is better to roll it with a "roller".

Features

When equipping ammunition Polev's bullet you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • Do not increase the charge of gunpowder more than indicated in the recommendations. A powerful obturator will significantly increase the pressure in the trunk.
  • The head is inserted into the plastic sleeves to the end, thus the parts of the container are moved apart. The projectile enters the sleeve with "tension", which, in turn, will hold it without rolling.
  • Such a scheme allows reuse of the sleeve. Just make sure that its length does not exceed 70 mm.
  • You can wrap plastic sleeves. Paper is just as good and does not influence the accuracy of shooting.
  • There must be control over the correctness of the installation of the container. This will help to avoid flipping its parts one or both.
  • Do not use bullets if their container loosely enters the sleeve. Indicators of lethal force will decrease due to poor quality obturation. The container must enter with a "tightness" into both the paper and the plastic sleeve.

Bullets of 12 calibers are used for hunting large game. First of all, bear, moose, wild boar. A good killer range (up to 150 meters) guarantees a successful hunt. At the moment of hitting the target under the influence of overload, the lead bullet is very tightly pressed into the shank. Its flattening is oriented in such a way that it is even more strongly pressed into it.

These bullets are also used for sport shooting: by "standing roe deer" or "running boar". Such ammunition is suitable not only for "breakthrough" rifles, but also for semi-automatic devices (for example, TOZ-87).

Advantages and disadvantages

Reliable and accurate, it enjoys well-deserved popularity. Other things being equal, consumers choose Polev's bullets. The hunters' comments about the accuracy of the battle are only positive. In addition, the killer range of the shot is 150 meters.

It's no secret that the guns of the twelfth caliber, produced at the Izhevsk plant, differ in diameter from the Tula analogues. Container with a dusty bullet Poleva- 6 provides compensation for the difference, allowing you to get a full, more powerful shot. In this case, the gases in both guns do not break.

There are three main advantages of Polev's bullet:

  • Absence of additional pads and wads;
  • Arrow-shaped form in combination with a stabilizer-stabilizer ensures a stable flight always "head" forward;
  • The deformation of the bullet serves as an element of a reliable combination of lead and wool.

The shortcomings of the product include the inability to manufacture a bullet in artisanal home conditions due to the presence of plastic parts and its complex shape. At low temperatures, the elasticity of the plastic shank is lost, which reduces the effectiveness of the shot. Shooting with bullets Poleva is not very productive in high grass, thick bush and other thickets. When grazing a bullet even a small obstacle, the deflection angle is too large to hit the target. The latter drawback is easily corrected by the execution of bullets from a harder material - brass or steel.
