Abandoned military facilities. Original places for exotic tourism

Exotic tourism enjoys in our time an unprecedented demand. Modern travelers have long become bored with beaches on the edge of the world and strange architectural buildings, they crave new, unusual sensations, acquaintance with the mystery. It is for this reason that more and more people are choosing original tours, visiting ruined castles, abandoned military sites and various mystical places. What is interesting in them, and why do they beckon to them more and more new guests?

From the past to the present

Abandoned military facilities exist in every country, in Russia there are a great many of them. The legacy of the military power of the Soviet Union in the modern state was not in high demand and quickly fell into decay. Today whole cities and military garrisons remain open only to the rain and winds, breaking more and more every year. Most of the facilities were frozen during the perestroika period, but some of them were abandoned much later. Many objects received the right to a second life, and in place of the forgotten ruins, real museums are organized, which can be visited by lovers of extreme sensations.

The garrison near Fedorovka

Abandoned military facilities near Moscow are visited by tourists of the new generation most often. Some of them have existed for several decades, others have appeared quite recently. One of these new objects is the town, located just 100 kilometers from Moscow. To get into it you will have to endure a path of 100 kilometers along the Volokolamsk highway. This closed military unit near the settlement of Fedorovka was created for the needs of the missile and launch complex. With the greatest desire, you can not find it on any maps. The city has a small size and consists of almost collapsed five-story houses, in which servicemen used to live. In addition to them, there are economic and administrative buildings in the settlement. The military city was abandoned in 2005 for unknown reasons and relatively well preserved.

Base of submarines in Balaclava

Separate abandoned military facilities on the territory of the former Soviet Union deserve increased attention. A really special is the abandoned base of submarines in the territory of the Crimean city of Balaklava. On its territory, the submarines are being repaired, as well as the storage of significant arms reserves. The base was a powerful, fortified complex that could withstand almost any hostilities, withstand massive bombings and the use of nuclear weapons. In 1993, the regime facility was completely abandoned. Hundreds of fans of thrill rushed to where previously only professional military personnel could be. Since 2003, the ruins, which testify to the former power, have been turned into a huge museum, accessible for inspection of all comers.

Abandoned military facilities, photos of which are often found in sources, are rarely provided with a description. The thing is that it's almost impossible to determine their true purpose. One of such bases is the abandoned part on the Kaluzhskoe highway near the village of Voronovo. The property is located in a quiet and picturesque place, which is not easy to reach, there are no good roads and clear signs. The bunker is located in the overgrown trench, therefore it becomes visible not immediately. The ruins of the buildings are overgrown with strong trees, and in spring and summer they are practically buried in greenery. On the military territory there are mines, residential barracks, electric substations. Precise information about the purpose for which this bunker was created is not available. Near the facility many years ago there were also railroad tracks, which now have become completely worthless.

Military power among wildlife

Abandoned military facilities can look intimidating and picturesque at the same time. A striking example of this phenomenon is the abandoned hangar of one of the anti-aircraft missile systems. It is located almost at the very intersection of Minsk highway and the Great Moscow Ring, in the distance from the busy highway. The hangar, embedded in the hill, can be seen only when approaching, from the side it stands little in the background of the endless field, drowning in greenery. In the summer it completely overgrew with grass and bright flowers. Inside the hangar is absolutely empty, and already something does not remind of its former power. There are a lot of similar objects along the perimeter of the Great Moscow Ring and all of them are remarkably similar to each other. Unfortunately, every year their number grows more and more.

Military facilities in Belarus

Abandoned military facilities in Belarus are also met at every step. The most famous is the unification of several dozen towers that rise to the sky to a height of about 350 meters. It is not an easy task to climb them, only desperate and physically hardy people who are not afraid of the wind, constant movement and solid height can decide it. Climbing to one of the towers can take at least 2 hours, but it's worth it. The view of the neighborhood opens for many kilometers.
