What is the famous castle of Dracula? Transylvania and its history

The castle of Dracula (Transylvania, Bucharest), or, as it is called, Bran Castle, is considered one of the most famous monuments of Gothic architecture in the world. He is credited with some magical features, many people are afraid of this building to trembling, and adventurers literally reach out to him, like a magnet. However, in fact, there is no supernatural architecture in this monument, and anyone who examines all its rooms and halls during the excursion can be convinced of this.

The history of this unique structure begins in the era of the distant Middle Ages, namely in 1212, when the castle of Dracula was finally erected. Transylvania, while the principality did not stand out, so this fortress was part of the domain of the city of Brasov. Since then, for many centuries in it lived a lot of rulers and princes, the castle passed from one owner to another and often fell at the disposal of the state itself. So, in 1920, it was presented by the authorities of the Queen to the Romanian Maria, who made a very great contribution to the development of her nation. However, during the war, the owner of this building again became Transylvania. Castle Count Dracula managed to regain the grandson of the great Queen Dominic Habsburg. He restored it and opened a real Medieval museum there.

Now we will understand why this building is called the castle of Dracula. Transylvania in the far 15th century was called Wallachia, and Vladislav III Tepesh was the ruler here in that vague period for these lands. He got his nickname because he punished all the Turkish invaders, putting them on the stake. History shows that Vlad was one of the most cruel rulers on the territory of modern Romania, but nothing is known about his "vampiric" features. In the twentieth century, writer Brem Stocker created the image of some Transylvanian vampire, based on the archetype of Vladislav III, which led to certain reflections on the part of the masses. The only clue can be considered only gloomy appearance, which possessed the castle Dracula. Transylvania, however, is full of similar medieval structures, like the whole of Europe.

After the restoration, however, Bran no longer has the severity that was characteristic of the gloomy historical era. At the disposal of tourists there are 17 light rooms, among which there are also bedchambers, and large halls, where various artifacts, sculptures, paintings and antique furniture are stored. Therefore, many fans of thrill are most often disappointed, getting into the castle of Count Dracula. Transylvania (Romania) - a very quiet place, the magic and danger to which attributed only numerous novels and folk folklore.

It is also worth noting that Bran is surrounded by local mountain peaks, covered with trees and shrubs, at the foot of which are spacious lawns. It is very beautiful here in summer and in winter. This is one of those amazing places where the old traditions are still preserved, where nature and man are in unity, and people live without all the innovations of modern progress.
