A new web-based tool uses your social network activity to predict your future

Your digital fingerprints are everywhere, and they can tell a lot about you. Every day, there are about 2.5 billion gigabytes of new personal data, mainly due to social media. All this information can fall into the hands of corporations, governments and even criminals.

The Psychometric Center at Cambridge University (UK) in collaboration with the game developer Ubisoft created Predictive World, an interactive application that allows you to get an idea of how social media activity can be used to predict your behavior and lifestyle.

How does the new web tool work?

Simply connect your Facebook account to an application that will use algorithms to filter out the available information about you and your online activities. This will allow the application to make about 60 predictions about you, including, for example, your age and gender, tastes in music, bad habits and the risk of becoming a victim of murder.

If you think that it is not entirely safe to provide your account in social networks to another website, it's worth knowing that the application will not save your personal information. But if you are still in doubt, you can simply enter information manually, without using social networks.
