A four-story roof with your own hands. Description of installation features

The roof, like any other architectural element, is able to decorate the house and make it special. Often, a unique roof is the pride of the owner. In addition to the popular and simpler single- and double-sloped roofs, there are also four- slope roofs with complicated mounting technology and a rafter system. They are of three types - hipped, hip and half-horned. With a proper design and a clear selection of the necessary materials, a four-pitched roof can be built with their own hands. The main distinguishing feature of such a roof are the edged (diagonal) rafters directed to the corners. They carry a heavy load and therefore are longer than usual. Characteristic is the presence of short rafters (narozhnikov), leaning not on the ridge run, but on the nappy. The four-story roof, constructed by its own hands , begins with the establishment of the Mauerlat and its strong ligament with the walls of the house, while observing a number of peculiarities:

• The distance between the mauerlate and the outer side of the wall must not be less than 5 meters;
• For fixing the beam, use anchors passing through the holes in the bar itself;
• So that the Mauerlats do not move apart and withstand rigidity, they are connected to the corners by springs, wooden or metal bridges, placing them at an angle.

The racks are mounted in accordance with the marking and fastened by the jibs. On them, using a plumb line, a ridge bar is installed. In order for the four- pitched roof of the house, installed by its own hands, to last a long time, carry out the following actions:

• The spatial arrangement and height of the ridge run are maintained;
• The posts rest on the supporting inner wall or on the runners laid along the supporting wall , which makes it possible to balance the weight of the roof;
• The size of the overhang of the future roof is between 0.5 m and 1 m;
• The side slopes are formed by the establishment of intermediate rafter legs and workers, while attention is paid to parallelism and their location in one plane;
• In the last turn, the lathing of the roofing is done by 40x40 or 50x50 mm brushes using boards having a section of 25x100 or 25x150 mm.

Construct the roof gable with their own hands is quite possible, with the following rules:

- The cross-section of the rafters due to the double load must be twice the cross-section of the remaining elements. Also, their attachment points, which carry a high tension, are amplified by metal perforated plates or wire rods.

- Splicing the rafters is done at the top of the rafter's leg with the reinforcement of this place with a stiff or torso. This process is important so that the four-pitched roof, made by hand, was strong enough.

- To do without cutting, but not to weaken the rafters during the fastening of the craftsmen, we use support bars.

- The long ridge span requires additional support racks.

- The embryos are staggered on both sides of the rafters. This will distribute the load evenly.
