general information

So, yarrow ptarmika, like other species of this plant, is most often found in the field, in the mountains, in the forest belt, in the steppe and meadow zones. Due to the fact that the flower is rather unpretentious, it can grow and multiply in the most diverse conditions, probably, therefore, it can be seen practically on every garden plot. In addition to the fact that the plant grows wild in the natural environment and is grown on private plots, yarrows also use public organizations to decorate recreation areas, parks and squares.

Varieties

In nature, there are many varieties of such plants as yarrow:

  • Ptarmika;
  • Pearl mulberry;
  • noble;
  • ordinary;
  • Tauphoid;
  • Large-head;
  • Felt and many others.

They differ from each other in height, the diameter of the buds and the color of the flowers. Why are we interested in the yarrow? Yes, because this variety is the most common in the territory of Russia and Europe. It is worth noting that this plant variety has its own subspecies. Height can range from seventy to eighty centimeters. Leaves are whole, unlike other varieties, and the flowers are collected in baskets. There are subspecies with double baskets, and there are with non-quart. The most popular terry varietal yarrow blossoms in the middle of summer and it is called the yarrow ptarmik "White Pearl". This name appeared due to the great similarity of colors with real pearls.

As for the root system of the flower, it has a creeping type, while the shoots are distinguished by a beautiful bright green color. Regardless of the variety, any yarrow can decorate your site and become a real treasure garden. In addition to being beautiful, it is also considered one of the most useful plants in folk medicine.

Reproduction

Yarrow is able to multiply in several ways:

  • Seed method;
  • Cuttings;
  • Division of a bush.

The most popular way is considered the first, with the help of seeds. Firstly, this is the cheapest option, and secondly, this method is available for use even by a beginner gardener. When you have an adult yarrow already on the site, you can propagate it with both cuttings and dividing the bush, but right at the beginning we recommend using the seed variant.

Landing

Planting yarrow ptarmiki should begin at the end of the winter period. In this case, you can accelerate the flowering period. Otherwise, you will not be able to see flowers soon on the site. For a positive outcome of the whole process, it is recommended to follow a simple instruction:

  1. Before planting, prepare the soil. Ideal is a mixture of fine-grained substrate and river sand.
  2. Take a small box or another container, pour in the ground. Note that this plant does not require the organization of a drainage layer.
  3. Put the seeds to a depth of about two centimeters, but not deeper. Otherwise, they will not be able to germinate, and the process will be a failure. Sow the seeds in rows, leaving a gap between them about three to four centimeters.
  4. Moisten the ground with a sprayer. Do not use another version of irrigation, as this can help to deepen the seed or wash it off.
  5. Place the container with the seeds in a place where it will be warm and light, but avoid direct sunlight.
  6. Cover the box with a film or oilcloth that passes light, thus creating a greenhouse effect.
  7. After a two-week waiting period, you will notice the first shoots, after which you need a more attentive care. It will be necessary to regularly moisten the soil.

Transplantation

So, after sowing the seeds, enough time has passed and you have many new shoots in the box ready for picking. It must be done, because otherwise the plants will interfere with each other due to lack of space. Transplant sprouts are necessary, as soon as you notice the first leaf on the stem. For this you need to use peat pots. In such pots, the yarrow should grow until it is about eleven centimeters high. All this time the sprouts need to be watered sparingly and kept away from direct sunlight, in order to avoid a burn.

Transplant to a permanent place of growth of the plant can be in the middle of spring. At this time the soil has already warmed up and can accept new plants. To disembark you need:

  • Make a pit about ten centimeters deep;
  • If you used a peat pot, you just need to put it in the center of the hole and prikopat, if you used another container, then the plant should be removed from it and placed in the ground;
  • Water the place of planting with water.

Care

Due to the fact that the plant is not characterized by a capricious nature, caring for it will not cause any special problems. The most important requirement for care is the destruction of the weed at the place where the yarrow grows. In addition, you need to follow a few simple tips:

  • Weekly watering of the flower, at the same time to monitor the condition of the soil, in the dry period it will be enough once a week, and in places with a cold climate it should be watered even less often;
  • After the plant has faded, it is necessary to remove the buds, as this promotes the development of the decorative properties of the flower;
  • With the arrival of winter, it is necessary to trim the branches so that their length is no more than fifteen centimeters; If there are severe winters in your region, then the plant needs to be covered with dry foliage for this period.

As you can see, there is no difficulty in planting and caring for this beautiful plant, but it can bring a lot of benefits. Especially if you study all of its medicinal properties.
