On the other hand, the wedding in June meant that you will travel a lot, and in September - that you will be rich. So in those days it was worth waiting a month or two.

If you believe English folklore, Saturday is a bad day for a wedding. In today's world, this is one of the most popular days to make a marriage, but earlier people preferred to marry on Wednesday. It's amazing that brides in general were married in the old days, considering how many different things were considered bad omens. Today, everyone is familiar with the tradition, according to which the groom should not see the bride in the wedding dress before the wedding, but in ancient times she had to hide from much more than just her lover. It was considered a bad omen to see a pig, a hare, an excavated grave, a pregnant woman, a dog, an owl, a snake, a nun or a monk.
