Who is the shahid? Shaheed is a great martyr or suicide bomber?

Many believe that the suicide bomber is a suicide bomber. In these people only evil is seen, and nothing more. However, if we consider this issue from the Muslim point of view, everything looks quite different. And how do you know who is right and who is not? Let's find out who the shahids are in Islam, and why half of the world's population is afraid of them today.

In order to find answers to these questions, it is necessary to look into the heart of Islamic culture. Learn about their traditions and laws, and also hear what true believers say about it. And therefore let's throw aside prejudice and try to get to the truth.

Shaheed: translation of the word and its meanings

If you translate the word "shahid" from Arabic, you will get something like "witness" or "testify". At the same time initially this concept had two interpretations. According to the first, the shahid is a witness of a crime that is ready to testify at the trial. The second was that it was a man who had martyred in the war.

It is the second interpretation that is considered correct. In this case, there are special rules, according to which the deceased can be considered a number of martyrs.

Who is the shahid?

Now let's figure out why martyrs are called shahids, I mean witnesses. Well, there are many theories that can explain this interpretation. However, they all boil down to the following conclusions:

  1. Killed for his own faith, a Muslim testifies of the power of Allah.
  2. The angels tell the Lord about the heroism that the shahid is doing.
  3. The existence of martyrs in itself proves the reality of paradise.

Who can become a martyr?

Shaheed is a martyr who died for the glory of Allah. That is, they can become only a true Muslim who believes with all his heart in the power of the Most High and his deed. Here one must understand one important point: the act of heroism must be committed only in the name of faith. If a Muslim is driven by a thirst for fame or political convictions, then in the eyes of Allah, he will never become a martyr.

In addition, there are two types of martyrs, which are very different from each other. So let's look at them separately.

Shahid of eternal life

If a true Muslim dies from violent death, he becomes a suicide bomber of eternal life. That is, in the world of the living it will not be perceived as a martyr. Consequently, the funeral will be held according to established traditions: the imam will hold all the rituals necessary for the repose and will read the necessary prayers. But in the afterlife such a person will be considered a martyr who will give him certain privileges.

In what cases is a Muslim a shahid of eternal life? This happens if he perishes at the hands of bandits, due to illness, accident or catastrophe. In addition, all women who died during childbirth also become martyrs in the sight of Allah.

Shahid of both worlds

It is quite another matter if a Muslim dies on the battlefield in the name of Allah. In this case, he becomes a martyr of both worlds. His soul immediately goes to heaven, where he takes a place next to the throne of the Most High.

In this case, the deceased Muslim can immediately be buried. Unlike the previous case, here it is no longer necessary to perform funeral rites or read prayers. Shahids of both worlds do not need them, since their body and soul have already proved their purity before Allah.

The thin line between faith and insanity

Unfortunately, today the term "shahid" is used more and more often to refer to suicide bombers. In particular, so called the bandits who committed the terrorist attack on September 11 in America. Why, from the great martyrs, they turned into villains, whom the whole world hates?

In fact, in many ways, the journalists are to blame. It was they who dubbed the terrorists by this name, although most Muslims disagree with this. After all, if you believe the Qur'an, it is not proper for a person to create such evil. It's one thing to protect yourself and your loved ones, and quite another to kill innocent people.

Yet many suicide bombers consider themselves martyrs. They actually believe that their war is sacred. Therefore, their death is nothing more than a way to show the power of Allah to the wrong.

Shaheed Belt

If we talk about shahids, we can not ignore another sinister creation, which is now closely associated with their activities. In this case, we are talking about the shahid belt, thanks to which not one hundred people died. What kind of adaptation is this?

Shaheed's belt is a very insidious explosive, which is easy to hide under clothes. It is necessary for the killer to slip into the crowd of people unnoticed and undermine himself with them.

The first to use these devices were Palestinian terrorists. So, the Israeli general R. Eitan in his notes mentioned that back in 1974 he was lucky to render harmless one of such suicides. And although initially only a few decided to resort to such harsh methods, with the advent of the terrorist organization "Hamas" everything radically changed. And the fault was the ideological preparation of their fighters. After all, they actually believed that by undermining themselves, they become shahids.

Women in the holy war

Shaheed is not only a man. Women can also become "witnesses" to the glory of Allah. But they can not fight with men on equal terms. That is, Muslim women should help their husbands in battle, but only in a peaceful way. For example, to treat the wounded, procure supplies, carry water on the battlefield and so on.

As for the war itself, many Islamic sages insist that women should not take up arms. This taboo can be violated only in the most extreme cases, when they have no other choice.

If we talk about terrorists who undermine themselves in the crowd, then their deeds can not be treated as acts committed for the glory of Allah. Therefore, most Muslims do not perceive them as martyrs.
