What is the ovarian teratoma?

The ovarian's is an ovarian tumor, a tumor directly inside which tissues are located, atypical for this organ. It is noteworthy that in translation from the Greek language this kind of disease means "a monstrous tumor". The thing is that inside the neoplasm simply can be hair, teeth, bone / connective / nervous tissue and other components.

Classification

  • Chromosomal abnormality of all cells, as is known, leads to the development of various kinds of anomalies. So experts, depending on the true cause of the appearance of the neoplasm, distinguish two types: the mature teratoma of the ovary and, accordingly, the immature one. Primary symptoms

Experts say that obvious signs of the presence of the disease in the body are noticeable only when it is of a malignant nature. In other cases, the teratoma for a long time and does not make itself felt. So described in this article, the disease is often manifested in the form of strong pulling pain in the abdomen. In addition, women very often complain about the appearance of a small bump. This indicates that the process becomes malignant.

If a primary symptom of this problem is found, the doctor, as a rule, prescribes the operation, and in an emergency. It should be noted that the actual amount of surgical intervention itself is determined according to the age of the patient, the size of the tumor and some other concomitant factors (localization, etc.). In young girls and women, surgical intervention is often accompanied by partial ovarian resection. However, the ladies already, as they say, at the age of quite often the operation requires the complete removal of the uterus, including the appendages. Doctors warn that with the timely and most important literate treatment is very likely the successful outcome of the disease. On the other hand, if teratoma is complicated additionally by some particularly complex types of cancer, therapy often proceeds somewhat less safely. In such situations, even removing the problem does not guarantee a complete recovery.
