How to grow cranberry garden. Planting and caring for the plant
As a garden plant cranberries are grown in Europe and the United States for more than 150 years. It is a short shrub with flexible, threadlike stems and oblong leaves. Flowers blossom by mid-May and have a pink color. Berry itself - globular, red, ripens in late August. Growing such a plant as a garden cranberry, planting and care for which is laborious, it is worth remembering that this is a very winter-hardy species, preferring sunlight. The plant gives preference to sour, fertile, moist soils and perfectly tolerates waterlogging or stagnant moisture. In arid heat requires abundant watering. In one place a bush can grow a couple of decades.

The top layer of the earth, about 20 centimeters, is best mixed thoroughly with peat. Cranberry is a large-berry garden planted approximately from the middle to the end of May. Observe the correct distance between the rows - not less than twenty centimeters, and in the row - no less than ten. On one landing site there are 2 cuttings each. For example, one square meter requires up to sixty cuttings.
For planting, use sand, it should be wet, but not very wet, and remain in this condition until new shoots start to form. Not so simple is the cranberry garden: planting and caring for it requires the gardener in the first three weeks of special attention. It is worth watching the growth and watering twice a week. When there will be shoots, then one will be enough. The growth of new shoots also means the growth of new roots.
Remember, garden cranberries, planting and caring for which should be carried out consistently and correctly, will quickly form new roots, and consequently, the early harvest will not keep you waiting. The full rooting takes place approximately on the twentieth day, and the harvest for the second or third year. From one square meter you can collect about half a bucket of berries.
In the first year after planting, still non-fructifying cranberries should be covered with lagets in winter. Fruit-producing is not necessary to cover.
