When performing roofing works, in addition to basic materials for coating and insulation from water and heat loss, so-called additional elements are also needed . These include such details as the endow, horse, end plate and others. These elements protect the inner layers of the roof from external environmental influences, so it is necessary to select and install these devices correctly.

End plate: description and specifications

This device performs two functions:

• Protective - the device removes moisture from the edge of the overhang from the front of the roof and prevents rain from splashing in an oblique direction;
• Decorative - the device gives a finished look to the coating of the structure, it allows you to hide the roughness and roughness in the work.

The end bar is usually made of steel or metal using special processing technology (hot-dip galvanizing at high temperatures) with a high-quality polymer coating. Such an element is distinguished by good technical characteristics, such as resistance to destruction under the influence of solar radiation, with temperature changes, constant presence of moisture and so on. Polymer coating can be performed in various color solutions (white, red, green, yellow and others).

The shape of the device can be made as simple (the shelf parts are symmetrical), and figured (additional bending is provided). The length of the product can be taken equal to the following values - 2 m, 2.5 m and 3 m. Shelves in standard design: 9 × 9 cm or 9 × 12.5 cm.

Mounting the parts on the roof with a coating of corrugated board

The end bar, as a rule, is installed before performing the basic work (laying the roofing material). When installing this part it will be useful to take into account such moments:

• Installation of the bar is carried out above the crate at a distance equal to the height of the deflection wave of the corrugated sheet;
• The additional element can be fastened to wooden parts with screws or screws, with the connection to be made from the side to the end board and from above to the roofing material (into the wave comb);
• Installation of the device is recommended to start from the edge of the roof overhang towards the ridge (where the excess part of the part needs to be cut off);
• The end plate for the corrugated board is fastened with a slight overlap (about 10 cm);
• A step of joining the parts on the base of the roof is about 60 cm.

Mounting of the device on metal roofing

An additional element is installed in almost the same way. It is important to consider the following points:

• All measurements must be carried out accurately;
• When installing, the bar should close approximately the height of the crest of the first wave of shingles;
• In case of a mismatch between the edge of the roofing sheet and the level of the cornice, the coating material should be cut off (at excess) or continued (with shortage);
• The piece is fastened to the roof in two places - the points of the maximum and the end board, which is set in advance;
• The connection can be made with screws, screws or blind rivets, the step being 60-100 cm.

The end plate for the roof allows to strengthen the roof structure while simultaneously hiding and protecting the internal elements. This device increases the service life of the coating, since it does not allow moisture and solar radiation to penetrate the wood parts. The use of this additional element also gives completion to the exterior finish of the structure.
