Warming of the walls of the house, the choice of materials

Thermal insulation of the walls of the house is an important question that arises more and more often. It all depends on where the building is located. Walls are important to insulate, because they account for almost 50% of the heat loss of the building.

All the building materials that are used when the walls of the house are made are divided into three groups. They differ in density:

  • Effective, density is not more than 1450 kg / m3;
  • Sufficiently effective, density of not more than 1600 kg / m3;
  • Conventional, density of more than 1600 kg / m3.

The most effective are materials with voids, by means of which it is possible to increase the thermal characteristics of the outer walls. If we talk about bricks, then it is better to use ceramic, and not silicate, when the question arises of thermal properties.

If the walls are made of concrete, then plaster them. Such a surface will be equal for thermal insulation of ceramic bricks. There are still options for materials for the insulation of walls, which are not wall. This is mineral wool, which increases insulation by 60%, and polystyrene foam, which increases it by almost 100%. In these cases, a brick is used, whether hollow or full-bodied. When the bricks are laid, the front rows are bandaged with the help of baulk rows and metal bonds with the main wall. The outer side of the walls is plastered, this will help avoid blowing.

As for the metal bonds, they are best covered with bitumen, cement or epoxy glue to avoid corrosion. If the building is large, it is necessary to provide waterproofing and a drain for condensate.

Warming of the walls of the house from the inside

There is such a phenomenon as freezing of walls. In this case, it is necessary to warm the walls of the house from the inside. The most popular here is "warm" plaster. It is applied to a special plaster mesh layer of 3 cm. It is best to do this procedure throughout the room to avoid the appearance of dampness outside the treated area. The plaster is laid on the plaster for the walls.

We need to think over the vapor barrier, which will not allow the moisture in the room to get on the plaster. Warming of the walls of a wooden house is also possible in various ways. The best mineral wool is suitable . The only thing that you should pay attention to - the walls of the wooden house are insulated from the outside.

The plastering process consists of several stages. First you need to completely remove wallpaper from walls, paint or old plaster, then attach the frame from the plaster grid. For this purpose, a network consisting of cells whose dimensions do not exceed 50 mm is often used. Under it, you can put the slats no more than 5 mm thick. They will be more reliable in retaining the plaster that is applied to the wall. The net should be tightened and fastened with nails.

In some cases, resort to additional insulation. It is possible to remove the thermal insulation of the walls, if the plaster is covered with a layer of insulation from above. For apartments is best suited basalt. It is necessary to fix the guides on the wall (wooden or aluminum beams). Then the insulation is laid in the gaps between the guides. From above there is a waterproofing layer. It can be made with a waterproofing, or it can be made from a common roofing material or roofing parchment. The final stage is finishing. For this purpose, chipboard, gypsum board or fiberboard can be used. The floor and the slab should separate the gap by one and a half centimeters, which will then be closed with a plinth.

Warming the roof of the house is a question that can also arise. Here the so-called thermocream will help best. It is widely used in modern construction. If you want to heat the roof, especially without changing it, then you can use expanded clay, sawdust, mineral wool or polyurethane foam.
