Indeed, why do not we feed us with bread, "pin up" the interlocutor, and we ourselves can easily take offense at such manifestations in our direction?

Scientists have proven that sarcasm in moderate amounts is useful, since it helps to work our brain and distinguish humor from a really negative attitude towards our person.

What is sarcasm for those who constantly practice it? Probably, the way of self-expression, the way to rise, humiliating another, but looking at the same time is not in the best light. Here psychologists have already started talking - they advise to be alerted to those who use this weapon constantly, and even several times a day. Most of these people have complexes, are not always satisfied with themselves, and that no one else has noticed, are the first. After all, as you know, the best defense is an attack.

The meaning of the word sarcasm is defined so - an evil grin aimed at enhancing the contrast between the pronounced caustic remark and reality. By the way, on the Internet on the forums many write that this category is not always negative, sometimes it's fun and pleasant - to play a trick on another, and like this mockery to both sides.

Of course, there are exceptions, especially the code you are in the circle of close friends, of which you know almost everything, make fun of this or that episode of life - this is not an excuse to refer yourself to the category of people, which was written above. Those psychologists are advised to ripen to the root and, perhaps, turn to a specialist, because some, if they want to use less evil language, simply can not. So what is sarcasm? A certain kind of bad habit.

Very often irony and sarcasm are used in our speech as synonyms, but this is not true. What is sarcasm, we have already figured out, but we need to understand how it differs from irony. Irony, as is well known, is often found in literature, that is, it is a way to convey to the reader something absurd, but without exposing it in a negative light.

Of course, sarcasm is also used by writers, but already quite in other genres. Many authors-publicists resort to this tool in their articles for exposing reality, revealing the truth, perhaps, hiding from readers.

By the way, recently on one radio station there was a show devoted to the theme "Sarcasm - what is this?", In which people spoke ambiguously. As an author, I am interested in subjective opinion, of course, but the girl, supported by concrete facts, liked much more.

So, she told us that in some kind of research our domestic psychologists decided to recreate a certain situation in which people were subjected to various emotional tests. As a result, it turned out that they sarcastically treated their "colleagues" in misfortune when their actions caused the strongest negative emotions.

Specialists, based on this, concluded that often the mask of sarcasm simply hides the hatred that the source (person) is trying to carefully disguise with a joke. It turns out that sarcasm is anger and a negative. But in fact, really, it is worth considering, because the meaning of the word "sarcasm" in the circle of friends, we are rather confused with the interpretation of irony. However, with less pleasant people we are sharp on the tongue. The study has a shred of truth.

Summarize. What is sarcasm, if not an evil grin aimed at emphasizing the shortcomings of another person? It's probably a game of contrasts used by writers, politicians, leading and many other public people to create a vivid and memorable speech. Choose each of us in what doses and why use such a dangerous weapon, which if misused, is fraught with, if not conflicts, a misunderstanding and a hidden insult.
