Hanako-san: scary stories and photos

Among all the stories of horrors, tickling the nerves of connoisseurs of thrill, it is the Japanese krippapastas that amaze with the variety and unbridled imagination. If you properly dig a traditional Japanese epic, then European horror stories seem rather limited. Vampires, werewolves, witches, a few evil spirits, perhaps, that's all.

The world of Japanese horrors is so densely populated that there is simply no room left for people. Evil can be anything, from a broken cup or a broken needle to your own neck. A special place in this parade of nightmares is occupied by the restless spirits of the deceased, and Hanako-san rightfully takes its place in the group of leaders. What kind of girl is this and where can she be found? What does she want, why does she not give rest to the living, and how can she be saved from her?

Dead girls in urban legends

A small dead girl or a young girl who chases the living ... In fact, this is not a Japanese notion, but a fairly common image that has been thrilling for impressionable people for many years. In the west, the urban legend of Bloody Mary is widespread, which you can call, looking in the mirror. The East offers to be frightened not only by Hanako-san, a ghost girl - a generally well-sold brand, on which a whole industry of fear is built.

Even if you walk through the cinema, Sadako will immediately remember, crawling out of the well in the movie "Bell". But there is also Kasima Reiko (Teke-teke) running in her arms, because she does not have the lower part of the trunk, the doll Okiku with live hair, Kaori-san, biting her ears along with the earrings, the girl with the cut mouth, the female spiders, Snake girls and so on.

Where does Hanako San live?

In Japan, a ghost can attack you anywhere, and the toilet is no exception. It is there that Hanako-san dwells, a photo of which ghost hunters are constantly trying to get. I want to immediately note that so far no one picture is recognized as genuine, and in the network most often there are talented collages made or simply shots from feature films.

Meet with the girl-ghost can be in the school toilet. And depending on the version, this meeting can occur both on your initiative and at the will of the ghost. Looks Hanako-san as a schoolgirl, age varies depending on the narrator - she can be a high school student or a little girl from an elementary school. Usually she is dressed in a white blouse and a red skirt or she is credited with the school uniform of the appropriate area of colors (different schools can develop their own designs of uniforms). Where did this girl come from? There are several versions.

Military version

It is said that this happened during the Second World War. Hanako was a girl, over whom her classmates scoffed. And during one of the quarrels it was closed in the toilet, and then an air alarm sounded. Everyone rushed to the shelter and forgot that a toilet was locked in a toilet. The school was bombed along with the unfortunate Hanako-san. The origin of the legend is confirmed by the time of the first mentions, the ghost began to be told approximately in the middle of the twentieth century, just after the war.

Victim of a maniac

Another version, too, may well be true. A maniac appeared in one city, who persecuted and killed schoolgirls. He chased Hanako-san, and she tried to hide in the school closet. In some stories they say that it was a deep night, and the guard was not there, so there was no one to protect the baby in the deserted building. According to other stories it turns out that the maniac was lying in wait for schoolgirls during the lessons, and the noise was strictly forbidden. In any case, the murderer overtook the victim in the toilet, and hid the body in the booth and closed it. Found it not immediately, so the ghost managed to firmly settle in the place where the girl died.

Weak health and family troubles

According to another version, Hanako-san had some kind of illness, because of which the girl often had to go to the toilet to wash and get back to herself a little. Once her throat went blood, so she could not call for help and died.

Also tell the story that the schoolgirl was from a dysfunctional family. Because of the father's betrayal, the mother decided to kill the children and commit suicide, which, in fact, happened. According to another version, Hanako beat his stepfather, and her face was disfigured because of beatings, after all she committed suicide in her school toilet. Another version supports the version of suicide, only the culprit is a cruel teacher who cut off the student's hair with a sickle, and she considered it a disgrace and committed suicide.

All listed variants of the legend can be intertwined in the most bizarre way. For example, in the military version it is often added that classmates not only mocked Hanako, but she was also weak, often sick, so she could not rebuff the offenders.

How to call Hanako san?

To get acquainted with the ghost, you just need to invite him to play. To do this, you need to enter the school toilet when there's no one there, knock on the door of the third booth from the entrance and call three times: "Hanako-san, let's play." Then the girl will respond and leave the booth. She will have a red skirt, a white blouse, and her hair is cut to the shoulders.

There is one more option. It is necessary for one person to enter the second booth from the entrance and close, and the second remained in the corridor. The one that is outside should knock, and then it is necessary to call together: "Hanako-san, go out to play!", And offer a few games. Then the ghost will touch the shoulder of the one who stands in the booth.

However, many believe that calling Hanako-san is not necessary. It's enough to just be in the school closet at one particular time, and the ghost will come out to say hello. What ends such games? Perhaps the best thing about this is telling Japanese horror movies.

Ways to escape

To stay alive and in your mind after meeting with the ghost of Hanako-san from the toilet, it's best to show her your excellent marks right away. Good students who learn best have nothing to fear. In this version, unfortunately, you can see the educational moment, and then the suspicion creeps in, and it's so simple. Not everyone learns very well, and if there is no test record with him, the situation can be dangerous.

They say that Hanako can be beat if you choose a game that suits you. There is another danger: a lost ghost can be offended and start revenge. You never know what's in the mind of a dead girl. The best way to stay alive is to never call a ghost and try not to enter Japan's school toilet, especially alone and at night.

Still they say that Hanako necessarily lies in wait for those who mock the weak, and will improve the moment when the offender is alone. In general, the motif of inevitable revenge is extremely popular in Japanese legends, and spirits are called upon to bear retribution if people themselves are not able to cope with injustice. If at the same time innocent people die, there's nothing to be done. Do not call the spirit of a dead girl, if you know that you can not get out of the trap, which he joyfully jumped.

The popularity of the ghost

The fame and prevalence of this urban legend is amazing. In each city, people believe that it was they who experienced this tragedy, and willingly report new "truthful" details. This was enough to make krippipast "Hanako-san" has gained tremendous popularity.

This story occurs in manga, in anime and feature films, at least four screen versions have taken history as a central story.

In 2013, director Mafasumi Yamada made a feature film about Hanako, he is completely based on this legend. In the anime series "Scary stories from school" (1994), there are several episodes in which there is a ghost girl from the toilet.

The stories about ghosts are a fertile topic for creativity, so Hanako will appear on the screen more than once. If you consider that Japanese filmmakers know how to frighten the public like no other, you can expect new products and be afraid of visits to the bathroom in advance.
