Museum of Railway Transport: History and Modernity

One of the most interesting museums in Moscow is, of course, the Russian Railway Transport Museum, located on two sites, with extensive exhibits, high-tech equipment and well-organized excursion services. The museum was opened in August 2011 after a long renovation.

Structure of the museum

The Museum of Railway Transport adjoins the Paveletsky railway station and is located behind the railway station, to the left of the tracks. Exhibition center of the museum

The exhibition center of the museum presents the current models of railway equipment. Of particular interest to those who visited the Railway Transport Museum is the VL80S electric locomotive simulator. This unique device reveals the technique of training machinists. Many exhibits of the historical part of the museum reflect the current state of affairs on the Russian railway. Visitors can see the Kazan Station from a bird's-eye view, the layout is made with absolute accuracy.

The reputation of one of the best exhibition enterprises of Moscow obliges the Central Museum of Russian Railways to regularly update the museum exposition. Presented in the form of an operating model high-speed train "Sputnik", a little further along the miniature rails sweeps a high-speed train "Sapsan", which connected Moscow, Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod.
