In our daily activities we operate with a huge number of different words and concepts. This applies to everything in our life: home, work, study, any hobbies, hobbies, etc. If for the sake of the experience of opening a dictionary, the Russian language will amaze with its versatility and the presence of an uncountable number of terms. Someone has a vocabulary habitual for him, which a person always uses. And someone is greedy, so to speak, to the knowledge, and constantly strives to expand his horizons and make a richer information base.

All people are interested in different things, they have interests, they have their own worldview and philosophy, characteristic only for them. There are, of course, those who do not enjoy anything at all - they live as they live, and are satisfied with what they know. But, anyway, all this affects the perception and understanding of a person by any information he receives, and how he interprets this information.

And what is the interpretation, unfortunately, not everyone knows. And to remedy this situation, this article is written.

So, let's talk about what an interpretation is, what definitions exist for a given word, and in what context it is commonly used.

The word "interpretation" comes from the Latin interpretatio - explanation, explanation, interpretation. Practical application of this concept has received in the philology of ancient times and was called the allegorical interpretation of texts. In the Middle Ages, the Christian interpretation of pagan traditions took place (by the way, it was at this time that the greatest number of transcripts and interpretations were given to the sacred texts and works of ancient Greek philosophers). In the Renaissance, there were "lexicography," "criticism of the text," "grammar." The latter included rhetoric and stylistics. And in the era of the Reformation, Protestant exegesis existed.

But what is the interpretation in our time? Applicable to different contexts, it has slightly different meanings. Here they are:

1. In the historical and humanitarian sciences - the interpretation of various texts, which is aimed at understanding their meaning.
2. In philosophy, logical semantics, mathematical logic - the definition of the meanings of expressions of a formal language.
3. In mathematics, the construction of models for calculus systems.
4. In hermeneutics - the activity of thinking, consisting of transcripts of hidden meaning and alternative levels of meaning.
5. In art - the individual performance of a literary or musical work, a dramatic role, interpretation of the director's script.
6. In the literature - the disclosure of the meaning of works in special cultural and historical situations of their reading.

Apparently, the dictionary of the Russian language offers many definitions. And they are applicable to completely different spheres of human intellectual activity. But all of them in the broad sense of understanding are an explanation, an interpretation, a translation into a simpler and more understandable language. That is, this meaning, as well as the totality of values attached to the elements (individual or all) of a theory.

Having understood that such an interpretation, we increase our vocabulary. And skillfully applying this concept in practice, we can learn to look at all things from different angles, which contributes to a much deeper understanding of the surrounding world and a comprehension of the events taking place in it.
