What Bodybuilding Is Different From Powerlifting

In the modern world there are more and more fans in such sports as bodybuilding and powerlifting. This trend is easily explained - who does not want to be the owner of a beautiful and strong body? To achieve these results, athletes use a barbell, weights, dumbbells, and also engage in various athletics. What are the differences between these newfangled sports disciplines?

First of all, it is worth noting that bodybuilding is primarily aimed at increasing muscle volumes, while powerlifting focuses on the development of strength indicators. To achieve the set goals, in both sports the exercises are the same, but with some differences. So, in powerlifting the range of repetitions with the maximum weight varies from 1 to 6. In classic bodybuilding, the number of repetitions in each approach is increased to 12 or more times.

This is one of the main facets that separates these iron sports, whether the athlete goes to the gym, or is engaged in his apartment, using power simulators for the home. The resulted figures of repetitions in exercises have been developed by many generations of sportsmen and trainers, and are the result of numerous trials and errors. Although it is worth noting that new trends in bodybuilding suggest reducing the number of repetitions to 10, and even up to 8 times.

In addition to the above, there are other differences between bodybuilding and power triathlon, as sometimes called powerlifting. After recruiting the required muscle mass, the bodybuilder starts to get rid of accumulated subcutaneous fat and pump out the small muscle groups. The process of fat burning in "builders" is called drying and consists of aerobic training, a strict diet, the use of fat burners and fasting. Small muscle fibers (biceps, triceps, calves, etc.) are pumped through isolated exercises aimed at creating an aesthetic relief of the muscles. Powerlifters during the training process are limited only by increasing their power abilities, their power. Subsequently, at the competitions of bodybuilders are athletes with clearly distinguished muscular relief, and in powerlifting competitions siloviki with rounded bellies lift the transcendental weight.

Common to these athletes (if it concerns professionals) is, unfortunately, the use of doping. Various anabolic steroids use both. This goes against the opinion, which was formed in the society about the strong men, as about people with very strong health. Anabolics undermine the health of any athlete, and even if such a person looks like a hero, then the state of his internal organs (liver, kidneys, etc.) leaves much to be desired. I would like that even among the professionals were only "straight", not "chemists". If only because it will be so honest, and sport will not be opposed to a healthy body.
