What are the natural fires

Natural fires are one of the most dangerous natural disasters on the planet. During them, a huge number of living beings die. Often in the flames, whole villages or villages die. Natural fires are subject to rigid classification. For each type of combustion and distribution, there are own terms and concepts. This serves to facilitate the definition of tasks to combat fire. Not only ground forces are involved in combating the elements, but also special fire helicopters and airplanes. Often, volunteers are being summoned to extinguish the fire , as well as servicemen of district units.

Natural fires are forest and agricultural, and those, in turn, have a number of subsections. Grass fires are the main cause of forest fires. Dry grass quickly flares up, but the speed of the spread of such a fire depends on the wind. Counter-fire uses counter fire, which under control destroys dead wood and leaves an uncontrolled fire without fuel.

Forest fires are divided into upland, grass-roots and litter. Their distribution depends on the speed and direction of the wind, the terrain and weather conditions. During a riding fire, only tree crowns often burn, but with a weakening wind the fire can move lower, and in that case every tree will burn completely. Top coniferous fires are mostly coniferous forests.

Natural fires are often due to the human factor. Carelessly abandoned bonfire or an extinguished cigarette can lead to litter fire. In this case, the litter or peat layer of the forest soil is burned. Underground fires are dangerous because they completely destroy the root system of trees. They spread very slowly, up to several meters a day. The burning site is often round or oval. The burned trees lie to the center of the fire. Extinguishing such a fire is complicated by the absence of a visible source of fire, as well as the ability of peat to pass water into the deeper layers of the soil, remaining dry. In the burnt out areas people and machinery can fail.

The grassland is the most common type of forest fire. During it, grass, litter, litter and the lower part of tree trunks are burning. It has a fairly high speed of propagation - about 5 meters per minute. Ground fire in some areas is able to move either to the crowns of trees, or to penetrate the ground. During the burning above the hearth, a kind of "heat column" is formed. Hot air rushes upwards, picking up coals and burning leaves, which after can get into areas not yet exposed to the fire.

Natural fires are one of the main scourges of Russian forests. Annually, thousands of cubic meters of timber die in them, entire ecological zones are destroyed. Fires in Russia with its huge forest areas cause great damage to the country. Burning in the summer of 2010, peat bogs in the Moscow region were covered with smoke and burning all over the capital. Annually in our country about 25 000 large forest fires are recorded, which cover an area of up to 2 million hectares.
