Subsequently, the coolant was also used in the VAZ-2110. Replacement of antifreeze was required by the machine infrequently - just once every two years. But antifreeze has an even higher resource. Although the composition of both liquids is the same. They are based on ethylene glycol. Moreover, initially the OJ is not colored in any color. In the future, the manufacturer adds the appropriate additives:

• Antifoam. To ensure that the system does not form air and does not reduce the heat sink.
• Anticorrosive. Over time, the elements of the system can rust. The dirt particles clog the small channels and prevent the normal circulation of the liquid. Also, these additives are called corrosion inhibitors.

Also, the liquid has a descaling additive. The usual water when boiling forms a characteristic white coating on the walls. This significantly worsens the heat sink. As a result, the machine is heated even when the fans are on. Cooling fluid if boiled, then at a temperature of not less than 105 degrees Celsius and at the same time does not emit any plaque.

Why should I switch to antifreeze?

The imported product has a lot of advantages over the domestic:

• High efficiency of use. The cooling liquid produced in Russia forms a protective layer on the metal walls. On the one hand, this is a plus. But on the other hand, the thickness of this surface can reach 0,6 millimeters, which significantly worsens the heat sink. Thus, antifreeze is characterized by low heat transfer, which increases the risk of engine overheating. Antifreeze this parameter is 0.0006 millimeters without loss of characteristics.
• High period of use. Tosol is recommended to change every 2 years or 60 thousand kilometers of run (which will come sooner). Antifreeze is designed for 5 years of operation or 150 thousand kilometers.
• A full set of additives. Antifreeze has all the modern additives that provide maximum heat dissipation and prevent the formation of corrosion. These additives are based on inorganic acids (borates, nitrites, phosphates). In the antifreeze, silicates are used, which quickly lose their properties during operation.
• Protection of the radiator. Carrying out 16 valves on the VAZ-2110 car to replace the antifreeze, it is worth considering what material the heat exchanger was made of. Radiators can be aluminum or copper. The main disadvantage of antifreeze is that it does not have additives capable of protecting aluminum heat exchangers at a temperature of 100 and above degrees. • Resistance to high and low temperatures. Tosol freezes at -35 and boils at + 105 degrees. Antifreeze has more advanced characteristics. So, the concentrate freezes at -45 and boils at +135. At the same time, it can be diluted with distilled water practically without loss of these characteristics. Tosol, when diluted, is no longer suitable for use in winter, since it can freeze already at -15 degrees, which is fraught with consequences.

Minuses

So, we have considered the advantages of using antifreeze. As you can see, this is a more technological product that can and should be used on the VAZ-2110. The only drawback is the price. But it pays off already for the third year of operation (since the service life of the concentrate is 2.5 times higher than the Russian equivalent). First it is necessary to prepare the necessary set of tools and adaptations. We need a set of keys (on 10, 13 and 17), as well as a funnel to fill the liquid. In addition, prepare a capacity of at least five liters. It is needed to drain the old antifreeze. As a capacity, an old canister with an incised sidewall or basin is suitable. To avoid staining your hands, use rubber gloves. Next, the replacement of the antifreeze on the VAZ-2110 is performed. First you need to install the machine on a flat surface. It is desirable, that it was a viewing hole (in the absence of that we take a jack). The latter we need in order to get close to the drain bolt. It is in the block of cylinders, at the plug. To unscrew it, use the ratchet with the head "for 13". Do not forget to put a basin under a cork, a bucket or a canister. To increase the pressure of the liquid, unscrew the plastic cover on the expansion tank. Because of it, a vacuum can form in the system. Further the stream of antifreeze will increase. After draining, screw back the stopper with the key. We take the funnel into the hands and install it in the neck of the expansion tank. Fill the antifreeze from the canister. Do not pour in large portions - so the system gets air, the presence of which is undesirable. After checking the system for the presence of "traffic jams". To do this, press the rubber tube of the radiator several times. At first it will gurgle. This means that air comes out of it. For better effect, you can lift the car even higher. So all the unnecessary oxygen will go away. After we close the hood and turn on the motor. After three minutes, muffle it and re-check the liquid level. As a rule, after warming up part of the antifreeze leaves the tank. Therefore, we add to the mark between the maximum and minimum. This successfully completed the replacement of the antifreeze on the VAZ-2110 (8 valves). Injector it or carburetor, it does not matter. The system is the same and has not changed at the "tens" for years. Therefore, this instruction can be used for VAZ of different years of production with different engine volumes.

How much to pour?

Performing on the VAZ-2110 replacement of antifreeze, how much kg of liquid is poured? The manufacturer recommends using 7.8 liters of coolant. It is at this volume that we reach the average mark in the expansion tank. The most optimal option is to buy two cans of 5 kg of concentrate, and leave the rest "for topping up" (not to test fate when diluting the liquid with water in winter).

Helpful advice

Carrying out a replacement for the antifreeze on the VAZ-2110 car, it's worth checking the condition of the nozzles and hoses that go to the radiator and the expansion tank. Typical signs of their wear are:

• Cracks.
• Cuts.
• Low elasticity.

If the pipe is cracked and hard to the touch, then it must be replaced. Also clamps also change. They can be bought at any construction store. The hoses that go to the tank must be reinforced, as in the photo below. Conventional rubber products quickly become unusable or rubbed. If there are cracks on the tank itself, we also change it to a new one. It is not superfluous to check and the thermostat. If it jammed in one position, it should be replaced. This can be checked by boiling the element in a saucepan on the stove. Why do these works need to be done while replacing the coolant? Because with any operation related to the cooling system, you have to drain the antifreeze again. And this is an additional waste of time and effort.
