Unusual and capricious bubble-rose "Diablo"

Bladderfruit canonide (Physocarpus opulifolius) is a genus of plants belonging to the family of Rosaceae. This deciduous fast-growing unpretentious shrubs, having a North American origin. The people are known under the name "tavolga" or "spila kalinolistnaya."

The most prominent representative of this genus is Diablo vesicle or Purple vesicle. The height of the adult bush can reach 4 m and the same width. The bark on this specimen is interestingly scaly. Branches slightly drooping. Planted on a sunny spot, it attracts attention by coloring the leaves, fully justifying its second name. The color of the leaves changes to bronze by autumn. Its leaves are small (up to 6 cm in length), trilobate, slightly corrugated, with denticles along the edges.

Within 3 weeks, beginning in mid-June, Diabetes bladder blooms. The photo shows his small flowers collected in corymbose inflorescences about 5 cm in diameter. Buds have a pink color, and the opened flowers are white with red long fluffy stamens. The fruits are swollen, prefabricated, at first have a reddish color, and later become brown.

The bladder Diablo dor (sometimes in the literature the name of this variety is prescribed) is a unpretentious plant. It grows perfectly on any soils with a neutral reaction, preferring sunny places. In the penumbra the foliage loses Original color, becoming green. These bushes do not tolerate overmoistening at all, therefore it is impossible to plant them in places of meltwater accumulation. In the hot summer they need watering and feeding is desirable.

The plant is frost-resistant, but in very cold winters the ends of the shoots can freeze. Pruning does not spoil it at all, moreover, it is quickly restored and becomes more branchy. The bladder Diablo perfectly tolerates the wind and gas pollution of modern megacities. The disease is almost not affected, pests do not show any special interest in it.

In one place, the vesicle Diablo can live up to 40 years. It multiplies by dividing the bush, by rooting cuttings and seeds. In the latter case, one should not forget that not all maternal qualities will be transferred to young plants. Some part will be with purple foliage, and the rest with green. It is desirable to plant seeds for the winter, with spring sowing, a month's stratification in the refrigerator is required.

The most simple and painless (for the bush) method of reproduction - green cuttings, cut in the second half of summer. For a greater percentage of survival rate, it is desirable to treat them with a rooting stimulator, and when planting, cover with a jar. Young plants in the first winter should be insulated with a layer of foliage or peat. In the spring they need to be put on a permanent place.

The Diablo bubble looks good against the background of the lawn and in a single specimen, and in a group planting. It is perfectly suited for both free growing hedges, and for regularly cropped, which maintain a certain shape. The plant is decorative at any time of the year, but most in the period of fruiting.

The Diablo bubble combines unpretentiousness and high decorative qualities, so it is so in demand among gardeners.
