Totem Wolf: value, photo

In many cultures, especially those that have largely preserved the remains of archaic beliefs, a special type of spirituality is practiced, connected with establishing close internal contact with an animal. The latter is called the totem. In principle, almost any animal can play this role. But one of them, of course, is in the lead in almost all such cults. We are talking, of course, about the wolf.

Tasks of the article

The totem is also called the animal of power - spiritual, energetic, magical power. In Russia this practice is traditionally associated with shamans of Altai, Siberia and the Far East and has very ancient roots in these regions. Totem The Wolf has its rich history, imprinted in a variety of myths and legends. But we will not delve into historical studies, but we will talk about the importance of this animal in the proposed religious-mystical context. In other words, our task is to find out what the totem Wolf is in its essence. The main values of his figures and functions will be described in more detail.

What is a totem

Firstly, a totem always means not a specific animal of flesh and blood, but rather. Archetype, behind the species as a whole. That is, the totem Wolf is not any member of the canine family, but the concept, if one may say so, of wolfness, or his idea, if expressed in Plato's language. A real beast can act as a personification of a totem, a mediator between him and a person, and also as a bearer of characteristic totemic qualities. Totem Wolf, whose photo you can see below, often became an animal power not just individuals. His patron elected him whole shamanistic clans, military brotherhoods, clans and other groups of people of different levels of organization and association. At the same time, the personal totem of a person may be quite different, but, being in such an association, it is also filled with a collective totem.

The Purpose of Totemism

The actual goal of this practice is study. From man it is required so to be imbued with the idea of the animal, in this case, wolf, that from within to be reborn and become in its own way this being. In other words, it is necessary to develop the qualities of one's own beast so as to feel one with him. It is not a question of frustration, when a person really feels himself or herself an animal in physical nature (Mowgli syndrome). In this case, a close spiritual contact is implied, as a result of which the magical power of the animal comes into contact with a human being and teaches it to certain specific things characteristic of a given fauna representative.

The totem of the wolf in its connection with the military associations

It is well known that in nature wolves are subject to many rituals characteristic of their kind. They distinguish places with respect to their destination, guard their territory, and in their society a complex hierarchy reigns. All these features perfectly fit into the principles of organization and discipline of various military associations. In addition, wolves are predators, the personification of strength and aggression, courage and collective power, which also strongly correlates with the notions of military prowess and honor. This value was the totem Wolf among the ancient Slavs, Scandinavians and many other peoples.

Principles of totemism

A person who revealed the qualities of this animal should not neglect his habits. Otherwise, it will turn against him. The fact is that the totem gives man not only strength and knowledge, but also imposes some responsibility related to limitations. In other words, the totem Wolf, whose meaning suddenly was discovered by a certain seeker of strength, must also behave like a wolf, some intuitively felt, and sometimes quite obvious, honor code. A person, for example, should not compromise with the principles of his and others' territory, but he must realize where he is and who is the master here. Wolves live in packs, respectively, the wolf type of a person should not be excessively self-confined, indulge in selfishness or lead a closed, reclusive way of life. Wolves are naturally monogamous. The same relationship in matters of love and marriage is required and from the person. Otherwise, acting against his newly discovered nature, a person destabilizes his condition, which can provoke various diseases, both at the mental and physiological levels. Therefore, the iron rule for those who have established a connection with their totem is to live in harmony with its nature.

Wolf howl and inner honesty

A very characteristic feature of a wolf is his howl. In this way, these animals in nature transmit information and express themselves. Totem Wolf also requires a dedicated person to have this feature, which sometimes leads to a contradiction with the requirements of local culture and the peculiarities of abstinence. Speech, of course, is not about spontaneously and unrestrainedly show all your feelings, including bad ones. It implies the development of internal honesty and the eradication of all hypocrisy. A wolf man should show sincerity and openness in his feelings and emotions, without any suppression or play. At the same time, he must have a truly wolf self-control and intellect to understand when it is enough just to snarl or show a grin, when to rush into the attack, when not to pay attention, and when to put the withers under the ironing hand. Shameless rudeness, predatory attitude to people and rudeness are not wolf qualities. Wolves are filled with inner nobility, mind and strength of spirit, and only in popular anecdotes and fairy tales are they described as forest gopnik. This image has nothing to do with totemism.

Common sense and intuition

Wolves are by nature very common sense. This quality is taught to his wards by the totem of this animal. However, it needs to be clarified that it is not just a matter of common sense, but of the development of the integrity of the whole being. This process includes, for example, the development of intuition. Thus, a person instinctively learns to find the ways leading to the best result, and also to read various clues in the universe. That's what the totem Wolf really teaches: meaning, signs ... A man wolf is howling (of course, not literally) in the sense that he often speaks fruitfully with his subconscious, inner voice, a dialogue with which he is perfectly adjusted.

Communication

Wild wolves in nature can join forces with other creatures. From ancient times, there was a close connection between these animals and crows. The latter, for example, indicate the flock where the victim is, and the wolves, in turn, share the informer part of the booty. Similarly, among the people, the totem Wolf and Crow can interact fruitfully. But in general it is important to understand the very principle that wolves do not neglect mutually beneficial deals, but use all the possibilities for joint fruitful cooperation. At the same time, one should not forget about the notion of honor - wolves will not use others in their own selfish interests. It is only about such cooperation, which does not imply a "kidalov". The last for a wolf-man is a disgraceful act.

Modesty

In a pack of wolves, strict orders prevail, and all the individuals of the wolf community play their roles in it, occupying certain hierarchical positions. However, the character of the wolf does not tolerate any bragging, arrogance or arrogance. They have enough inner maturity, strength and prudence, so as not to boast of their position. A wolf type man learns from his totem the same. He will not be without a reason to trump his status, title, ties or other advantages. In general, the totem gives such an energetic force that a huge power begins to be felt in the very image, look, and posture of a person. This is reflected in the fact that he without a single word or gesture, literally one of his presence is able to tame not to the extent of zealous people.

Internal rhythm

Sexual maturity, and hence, the full status of the wolf reaches about the end of the second year of life. Hence, in different traditions, the special significance of the two-year period is postulated for those who have the Wolf as their totem. It is important for a person to learn how to feel this rhythm and determine the zenith point of their strength. It is also worth noting that the wolf is closely connected with the planet Mars, the duration of the full revolution around the sun which is approximately equal to two terrestrial years. Thus, a person with an awakened totem of a wolf is energetically dependent on the Martian year. This factor should be taken into account, but it is not necessary to exaggerate its values. After all, a person lives on the Earth, and the Martian, as well as wolf, influence plays an auxiliary rather than a determining role.
