Tom Hanks is a Hollywood actor. Forest Gump with Tom Hanks

There are films in which any actor dreams to act. "Forest Gump" - one of these paintings. Having received six Oscar awards, this film went down in history not only American, but also world cinema. Who has starred in the masterpiece of director Robert Zemeckis, and how the picture was received by the public?

Forest Gump: summary

Whatever the actor was chosen for the main role, Forest Gump was doomed to success, if only because the work of the writer was more than talented. The script for the film was written based on the novel by Winston Grum. In the center of the plot is a naive and eccentric guy - Forest Gump. But he is surprisingly lucky in life.

First, young Gump in absurd contingency falls in the national football team of Alabama University. Subsequently, he becomes one of the best athletes of the United States and even gets to see President Kennedy.

Then Forest goes to the army, where, of course, he does not belong, but also thanks to a lucky coincidence he manages to excel: in the Vietnam War, Mr. Gump manages to take almost half of his wounded platoon from the battlefield. Then with Gump there is still a lot of wonderful things: he becomes a billionaire thanks to catching shrimp, one of the investors of Apple and makes a race in all the states of America.

Unfortunately, the film ends with the fact that the beloved Gampa woman dies, but leaves him in the care of their common son. So simple and simply eccentric Gump lived the brightest life you can imagine.

The actor "Forest Gump" (T. Hanks)

The role of Forest Gump is not easy to perform. An experienced actor was required. "Forest Gump" could be the best work in the career of Bill Murray or John Travolta, but another "Oscar" for this role was received by Mr. Hanks.

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks in the 90's was already considered a first-class Hollywood actor. Shortly before filming in Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks got his first honored Oscar for his role in the film Philadelphia. There he played no less than shocking homosexual Andrew, who is infected with AIDS. After such an uneasy role (especially for a deeply religious person, and Hanks is so), no one doubted that Thomas would be able to cope with the character of Forest Gump.

Critics appreciated the actor's game. The proof is the Oscar, American Comedy, Golden Globe and many other awards that were awarded to Hanks for the Forest Gump. After such a triumph, Hanks can safely be called one of the most highly paid Hollywood actors (only for shooting in the film "Angels and Demons" he was paid 51 million dollars).

Performer of the role of Jenny

The role of beloved Gamp went to American actress Robin Wright. This TV-audience of many countries of the world is remembered for her participation in the legendary "soap" of "Santa Barbara". Usually serial actors find it difficult to get into full-length films, but Robin Wright got out of the soap opera networks and already in 1986 played a notable role in the Penelope Sphiris action film The Hollywood Police of Morals.

Then Wright played the main role in the fairy tale "The Princess Bride", and in 1994 she passed the casting and got the role of Jenny in the tragicomedy "Forest Gump". "Oscar" for work in this film, the actress did not see, but she was awarded such awards as "Golden Globe" and "The Guild of Screen Actors USA Award."

After that, Robin Wright starred in a number of little-known films. After the 2000s, the actress returned to serious projects and starred in such films as Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf, Pippa Lee's Private Life, Rebecca Miller, and David Fincher's Girl with a Dragon Tattoo.

Lieutenant Dan and the actor who played it

The role of Lieutenant Dan, who is a close friend of Gump, was played by Gary Siniz. For the first time, Forest and Dan meet in Vietnam. Subsequently, Gump rescues his friend's life, but he remains disabled, so he is not very happy with this "happy" case.

Everything changes abruptly, when in the US Gump buys his first ship for catching shrimp, and Dan goes to him as a sailor. Together, friends make a fortune and become one of America's richest people.

Prior to "Forest Gump" Siniz played in only a few films, and these were minor roles. The role of Lieutenant Dan brought the actor a prize "Saturn" and "Golden Globe". Further business with Sinisa went much better: in the 95th he gets the main role in the film "Truman", in 97 plays the main character in the picture "George Wallace".

Recently, the actor is more remembered as the performer of one of the main roles in the television series CBS "CSI: Crime Scene - New York".

Mrs. Gump

Sally Field - Oscar winner for the role of Norma Ray in the film of the same name, directed by Martin Ritt in 1979. The next "Oscar" actress was in 1984, starring in the film "Places in the Heart." For the image of Forest Gump's mother, Sally Field did not receive a single award, but this work is one of the most famous in her filmography.

In the story, Mrs. Gump alone raises her son. With finances in their family, of course, it is difficult. And the boy was born a little strange. Foresta even refused to attend a regular school, but Mrs. Gump managed to settle this matter. Subsequently, the heroine of Sally Field dies of cancer.

After shooting at Forest Forest, Sally Field's career went into decline. New interesting projects appeared in the actress only after the 2000s, when she managed to get a role in the TV series "First Aid", as well as a major role in the television series "Brothers and Sisters." Then Mrs. Field played Mary Todd Lincoln in the biopic "Lincoln", as well as Aunt May in the blockbuster "The New Spider-Man."

Mikelty Williamson as Babba

Character Bubba meets Forest Gump during the Vietnam War. This was the first person with whom the main hero in the army became friends. Unfortunately, Benjamin, nicknamed Babba, dies during the shelling of a platoon by Vietnamese guerrillas.

The character Babba in the film went to Michelli Williamson. The actor began his television career in the episodic role in the series "Starsky and Hutch." Then there was a series of little-known films, until Williamson got into Forest Gump. And to this day the role of Babba is his most famous work.

In the 97th actor also played in the action movie "Air Prison", where the main role went to Nicolas Cage. Then there was a small role in the thriller with Bruce Willis "The Lucky Number of Slavin". From 2007 to 2009, Williamson starred in the series "CSI: Crime Scene - New York."

Other actors

Michael Conner Humphries became the youngest participant of the project - he played the role of Forest Gump in his childhood. The boy did not make an acting career in Hollywood, instead he became a military man and served several years in Iraq.

Another debut took place on the set of the film: Haley Joel Osment played the son of Forestus Gump. Subsequently, Hayley turned into an actor and played in the movie "Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis, who received 6 nominations for the Oscar.
