Three ways to remove the page break in the "Word"

In the program "Word" there are two options for page breaks, but it should be noted at once that their role is only in one - to transfer the text or another fragment of the document to the next sheet. This method is most often used for printing.

As for the variation of the breaks, that is, the automatic one is the one that occurs when the text goes beyond a single sheet. Such a gap can not be adjusted, however, this is not necessary. The second one is put manually at the location specified by the user.

Next, some methods of how to remove the page break in the "Word" will be disassembled. It should be immediately said that the most popular methods will be presented. Removal will occur in the version of the program in 2016, but the page break in the "Word" in 2007 and previously removed can be the same way.

Removing the manual gap

The method how to remove the page break in the "Word", which will now be presented - the simplest. It implies that you yourself have established a break in some place.

The first thing to do is change the display mode of the document. The default is always the "Page layout" mode, you also need to switch to the "Draft" mode:

1. To do this, go to the "View" tab and in the "Modes" area, click on the "Draft" item.
2. Now you need to isolate the gap. This is done by clicking on the dotted line. Once the object has become selected, press the DELETE key.

This is one of the ways to remove the page break in the "Word". It is very simple, but it also happens that it does not help. Therefore, several more methods for removing gaps should be considered.

Removing a hard break

There is such a thing as a "hard break". This is the name of the gap, which was added by pressing CTRL + ENTER or from a special menu. Now we will analyze the second method. How to remove the page break in the "Word" if it is "hard":

• The easiest way is to use the "Find" tool for this purpose. To call it, click on the corresponding button on the top panel or by pressing CTRL + F.
• Now enter the search query "^ m" (without quotes) or just copy it.
• After the search is finished, you will find all the hard breaks. And to remove them, select them and press the DELETE button.

Changing Intervals

Sometimes the gap may arise due to incorrectly set intervals between paragraphs (before the paragraph and after it). In order to remove a page break in the "Word", if it occurred due to incorrectly specified intervals, you need:

• Enter the appropriate section, after selecting one paragraph before the break.
• While on the Home tab, in the Paragraph area, click on the special icon. Its exact location you can see in the picture below.

• After clicking, the "Paragraph" window will appear on the screen. In it you need to pay attention to the section "Interval", namely - "Before" and "After". If they are the cause of the gap, the values in these fields will be unusually large.
• As you might guess, to remove such a gap, you need to change the values to acceptable. Alternatively, set the value of "Auto" to the program itself defined the interval.
