The future writer was born on November 25, 1889 in the Turkish city of Istanbul. Reshad's father, Nuri Bey, worked as a military doctor in the Turkish army with the rank of major. He was an educated man and perfectly mastered three foreign languages - French, Arabic and Persian. My father played a rather important role in the formation of Reshad Nuri Gyuntekin as a person and writer. Nuri encouraged his son to study people and nature, to reflect on the essence of things.

Reshad attended a local school, which was located in Canakkale. Later, he moved to the average Izmir school Frerers. Having graduated in 1912, Resad entered Istanbul University. The boy has been fond of folk art and literature since childhood. That is why Reshad decided to enter the Literary Department.

His literary work Reshad begins at the end of the First World War. Gyuntekin writes short stories under the fictitious name of Jemal Nimet. The first story was published in a popular Turkish magazine in 1917. Within a year, various literary studies of Reshad and his reviews on plays were published. In parallel, Guntekin continues to write his stories. In 1927, he falls in love with Mrs. Hadiye, a graduate of the women's school Erenkey. The couple is getting married. Soon the writer has a daughter.

After graduating, Reshad settled in Bursa secondary school, and later - Istanbul. There he worked as a teacher. Reshad gave lessons in literature, philosophy, Turkish. In addition, he was engaged in leadership work. In 1931, Reshad Nuri Guntekin received the position of an inspector in the Ministry of National Education. Later, during 1933-1943, the writer works in the Turkish parliament as a representative of his hometown of Canakkale. In 1947, Reshad again returns to the Ministry of Education, but already as a senior inspector. Since 1950, the writer has been working as a consultant on the cultural affairs of Paris. Parallel to this, Reshad Nuri Gyuntekin is the representative of Turkey in the World Organization of UNESCO.

last years of life

When Güntekin Reshad Nuri retired, he took a job in the literary rule of Istanbul. However, soon his health deteriorated sharply.

The writer leaves the country because of constant ailments and goes to London for treatment. Later it turns out that Gyuntekin is suffering from lung cancer. On Dec. 13, 1956, at the age of 67, Reshad died because of this illness. The writer was buried in the Istanbul cemetery called Karacaahmet.

The author believes that it is necessary to forgive only if you really love. The work is a real pearl of Turkish literature. The merits of the novel include an exciting story, the presence of very bright images, an abundance of diverse characters. Also you can not fail to note the high level of emotionality. The author understands women's psychology very well. It is for this reason that the main character and all her actions look very organic and realistic.
