The society is the largest subject of the historical process

What is society? In everyday life this term is often used as a synonym for the words "people", "country", "state". However, they all designate what we need, only in a synonymous sense. Each of them has other, particular meanings.

Socium is a Latin word for a certain type of collective. In Russian, its exact equivalent is the word "society". His life is built around the conduct of a single economic activity, beginning with primitive times. In historical times, the compulsory payment of taxes and the performance of duties were added to this. In turn, the society in the person of the state provides assistance in the form of subsidies to support the economy of individual lands (regions).

The society is the most complex and large subject of the historical process. This is not just a collection of people, but their organized group. Within the society, people coordinate their actions and coordinate them according to certain rules. That is, society is endowed with unity of action, which will allow us to regard it as an independent subject of historical development.

What is the society for individuals? In this aspect, we can distinguish several basic features of this association of individuals. The distinctive features of the society are the following. First of all, the fact that the regulation of all forms of human life activity in it occurs on a comprehensive scale and concerns the most important aspects of human existence. The society is a system regulating family ties, security, the possibility of enriching and strengthening the power of individuals.

Belonging to it is a hereditary property: its individual members are interconnected and can not terminate this established unity only at the will of a particular person. It, for example, can not be left as a party or a sports club.

Members of the society for each other are psychologically "their own", they feel solidarity, spiritual intimacy and affection, which in this sense is much stronger than the "averaged" closeness between people.

On what is held the unity that characterizes the society? The definition of this concept is based on the fact that the main socio-forming factor is a single power that is based on voluntary and mutual obligations aimed at improving the living conditions of each of its members. In order to achieve this goal, the society often sacrifices its own representatives (people who perish during the defense of their country in the course of military operations). That is, in emergency situations people are ready to make personal sacrifices to help others.

Today, more common are simple (one-level) societies, in which all members are covered by one "social contract". In the Middle Ages and in the ancient world, composite societies, including different groups, within which their own social obligations operated (tribal unions, clan societies) were more common. Today, analogues of complex archaic societies are preserved in the form of federations and confederations, in which the supreme authority does not directly manage the affairs of individual actors, but acts only through their representatives.

So, society is the largest subject of the historical process, which has a unity of action. He is capable of reproducing and continuing himself in the form of a collective of people who are "one's own" to each other in spiritual and economic terms. Members of one society hereditary owe each other military non-aggression (limiting the resolution of disputes and conflicts) and mutual assistance, which is guaranteed by a single organized government. All this provides an opportunity to meet the basic desires of people and their security needs.
