The preparation "Domperidon": instructions for use

Medication "Domperidon Hexal" ("Motilium") is a medicinal product having an antiemetic effect, which is released in the form of suspension and tablets. This remedy in a number of cases can also eliminate nausea and soothe hiccups, which becomes possible with the blockade of central dopamine receptors. In view of which, the motor and evacuation activity of the stomach is increased, by eliminating the inhibitory effect of dopamine on the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract.

• Digestive disorders with gastrointestinal reflux, esophagitis, accompanied by pain in the upper abdomen, a feeling of overflow in the stomach after eating, bloating, heartburn, belching, flatulence;
• Vomiting and nausea of various origins (infectious, organic or functional) with motion sickness, ulcer, enteritis, gastritis, intestinal infection;
• Vomiting (cyclic), a regurgitation syndrome in children.

With chronic digestive disorders, the drug is usually prescribed to children over 12 years of age and adults three times a day before meals for 20-30 minutes on the first pill, washing down with water in the amount of 100 g. To avoid the occurrence of unpleasant sensations such as abdominal pain, Heartburn, it is not recommended to take tablets while eating. If necessary, you can take the medication before bedtime.

When vomiting and nausea, children with 12 years and adults are prescribed 2 tablets (20 mg) of the drug "Domperidon", the instruction for which recommends using the drug 3 to 4 times a day. However, the daily dose of the active ingredient should not exceed 80 mg and should correspond to 3-4 mg per kilogram of body weight.

Also recommended is the preparation "Domperidon" in tablets for resorption for adults and children having a body weight of over 35 kilograms. The tablet is placed under the tongue, after 10-20 seconds it completely dissolves and, without washing down with water, it can be swallowed.

In the case of digestive disorders in chronic form, children between 5 and 12 years of age are prescribed a drug per 2.5 kg of body weight per 10 kg of body weight. Take three times a day.

When vomiting and nausea, the medication is given to children from 5 to 12 years 3-4 times a day at the rate of 5 ml for every 10 kg of weight.

Before using the drug in suspension, the vial should be shaken thoroughly.

For diseases of the pituitary (tumor), hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, gastrointestinal bleeding is strictly prohibited to take medicine "Domperidon". Instruction in the number of contraindications is also called children's age to five years, with caution should use the drug to patients with kidney disease.

• Cardiac disorders: arterial hypertension, ventricular arrhythmia.
• Nervous system: increased excitability, akathisia, extrapyramidal phenomena, irritability, nervousness, lethargy, dizziness, insomnia, migraine, headache.
• Endocrine disorders: violation of the menstrual cycle (disappears after discontinuation of therapy), decreased libido, mastalgia, hot flashes, amenorrhea, gynecomastia, galactorrhea (very rarely).
• Change in laboratory indicators: an increase in blood levels of cholesterol, ALT, AST.
• Others: asthenia, chills, increased sweating, spasms of calf muscles, conjunctivitis.
