Spray and drops 'Tizin'. Instructions for use

Tysin is an effective remedy against the common cold. This vasodilator drug is available in the form of a spray and drops. Active substance is tetrisoline hydrochloride, the composition of the drug also includes a number of auxiliary products: benzyl alcohol, sorbitol, hydrochloric acid, purified water, flavor.

The effect of the drug "Tizin" is based on the ability of the active substance to narrow the blood vessels in the nasal cavity and eliminate edema and hyperemia of the tissues. With rhinitis, the patient is relieved by nasal breathing. The moisturizing effect, which creates hyaluronic acid, helps maintain the mucous membrane in the optimal state. The positive effect after taking is already observed within 10 minutes.

Children aged 2 to 6 years are prescribed 2-3 drops in each nasal passage, for adults the dose can be increased to 4 drops at a time. Repeat the procedure is recommended with an interval of not less than 4 hours, the repeated course of admission can be resumed only after several days.

In the ENT practice, the Tizin drug is effectively used. The instruction indicates its positive effect on congestion in the nose in diseases such as:

- rhinitis;

- sinusitis;

- pharyngitis;

- hay fever.

- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

- with dry rhinitis.

Children under 2 years of age should not take drops with a concentration of 0.05% active substance, and if the child is under 6 years of age, then similar contraindications are available for drops with 0.1% of tetrizoline.

Pregnant women are recommended to take Tizin only in the most desperate situations, the same recommendations apply to breastfeeding mothers.

Often, patients' inattention to the choice of doses and treatment regimen leads to negative consequences, the same can be said about the drug "Tizin". Instructions for use always contain the necessary information about the rules for taking medications, but despite this, some patients for the "early recovery" are decided on the internal reception of the drug, which leads to an overdose.

Symptoms of getting an excessive dose of Tysin medication in the body are as follows:

- vomiting, nausea and dilated pupils;

- fever and convulsions, possibly the development of tachycardia, arrhythmia, up to the collapse;

- cardiac arrest, pulmonary edema;

- mental abnormalities, suppression of CNS functions.

Treatment in such difficult situations is based on gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal, performing artificial respiration and introducing oxygen. To reduce blood pressure, you need to inject intravenously 5 mg of phentolamine. If urgently needed, anticonvulsant and antipyretic drugs are given.

To the storage conditions of the preparation "Tizin" there are no special recommendations, this should be a dry and cool place, inaccessible to children. If it is a matter of storing the medicine in the form of drops, then after opening it can be used for a year.
