The main signs of a tick bite in humans

When the spring brings warm weather, many people try to get out on the nature. However, it should be taken into account that spring is the period of the greatest activity of ticks. In nature, there are many kinds of these bloodsuckers. Many of them are carriers of such dangerous diseases as encephalitis, fever, Ku, babesiosis, borreliosis (Lyme disease). Therefore, every person should know the signs of a tick bite in a person.

The most likely places for bites

These arachnids have very small dimensions (about 3 mm) and are hidden among vegetation (trees, grass, bushes). Especially they like dark and wet places. It is generally believed that the mites fall on the person from above (from branches of trees). But this does not always correspond to the truth. They can cling to clothing from the grass and climb up in search of a suitable place for suction. Typically, for their bites, mites select warm zones with soft skin: the groin area, the folds of the elbows and knee joints, neck and places behind the ears, armpits. In nature and after her visit, they need to be inspected for sucking bloodsuckers in the first place. Symptoms of a tick bite in a person may appear later or be not too noticeable, and it is much easier to detect it in time (especially when the parasite swells from the blood). The bloodsucker must be found and shown to the doctor.

The main signs of a tick bite in humans

The man does not feel the moment of bite. It is absolutely painless, since the pincers produce a special anesthetic. They penetrate the skin until they reach the blood vessel. The only signs of a tick bite in a person that can be identified are the detection of the bloodsucker or the zone of its integration into the skin. The site of suction of the parasite looks specifically. Immediately after the tick fell off, it resembles a small, slightly bleeding wound. Through time, the place of embedding in the epidermis turns into a round bright red or cyanotic spot, which gradually increases in size and itches. As it expands, the picture is as follows: the center of the bite is bright red or cyanotic, around it a pale circle sharply contrasting in color, surrounded in turn by a red circle. However, these signs do not always appear. Everything depends on the individual reaction of the organism. If a parasite or bite is found, the doctor should be consulted immediately.

Indirect signs of a tick bite in humans

After the parasite has reached the blood, the following reactions of the organism are possible:

  1. Rashes on the skin.
  2. Pain in the muscles.
  3. Temperature increase.
  4. Inflammation of joints and pain in them.
  5. Symptoms of acute respiratory disease or ARVI.
  6. Enlargement of lymph nodes.

Consequences of tick bite in humans

The greatest danger for a person is not the very introduction of the parasite, but dangerous infections, the carrier of which it can be. The consequences of infection can be different. Everything depends on the specific disease. However, untimely diagnosis and the later initiation of treatment for many diseases transmitted by a tick can result in a disability or death of a person. Therefore, if you have the following symptoms, you should immediately call your doctor or call an ambulance:

  1. Very strong, painful headache.
  2. Labored breathing.
  3. Pain in the chest and palpitations.
  4. Strong rise in temperature.
  5. Paralysis.

Early treatment, as a rule, avoids serious consequences for human health.
