• With trichomoniasis, treatment is prescribed to both partners: usually, during the ten-day period, 250 mg of the drug is administered twice a day + in addition, women are discharged vaginal pills that are inserted into the vagina before bedtime - one tablet for ten consecutive days. The minimum dose for children is 250 mg, and the maximum dose is 500 g (depending on the child's age). Treatment is designed for ten days with taking the drug once a day;
• When giardiasis is usually given the following dose: adults need to take 500 mg of medication 2 times a day. You need to drink medicine for at least 1 week. Children are given a dose with an eye for their age;
• Patients with signs of pseudomembranous colitis are also prescribed 500 mg, which must be drunk 4 times a day;
• During the treatment of anaerobic infections, adults are advised to take 400 to 500 mg of the drug for a week or ten days 3 times a day, but children younger than 12 years of age need a smaller dose of 7.5 mg per kilogram of weight for the same period;
• At treatment of a chronic form of an alcoholism it is appointed approximately 500 mg of a preparation for a day for the term up to six months;
• For postoperative prophylaxis the drug "Metronidazole" (tablets) is applied during the week at a dose of 750 mg once per day;
• When radiation therapy is recommended, administer the drug 1 hour before the start of the irradiation as a dropper. The dose is calculated as follows: 160 mg per kilogram of weight. In the remaining period of radiation therapy, the patient is not given the drug. A single dose in no case should exceed 10 grams, and the course dose - 60.
