Age of Cinderella in fairy tales and films

As we have already said, a lot of different films have been shot recently about a poor girl who loved to work. At the same time, many of them are not children's fairy tales and are not suitable for children. But there is "Cinderella" (the actors and roles will be described below), which everyone remembers. This is a fairy tale film, dated 1947. In this film there is a bright trace of the literary character created by Charles Perrault.

In the story, Cinderella is left without a mother, and her father later marries a second time. Moreover, his choice falls on a widowed lady with two young daughters. For example, the role of the main character was claimed by five young actresses. The film itself was shot in two film studios (German and Czechoslovak): "DEFA" and "Barrandov". The shooting took place in one of the bright castles called Moritzburg (it was there that the episodes were shot with the royal residence), in Šumava, the village of Švihov and other picturesque places in Pilsen.

In fact, the plot is based on a fairy tale about Cinderella created by the notorious Grimm brothers, with some additions from Bozena Nemtsova. In the center of events is, of course, Cinderella. Unlike other of its prototypes, this girl can ride and perfectly shoots from the bow. She lives in the house of her stepmother and plays the role of a servant rather than a full daughter.

Prince - wayward and obstinate guy who loves to hunt rather than learn. His parents want to marry, because of what he constantly argues with them and quarrels. During one of his trips through the forest, the future royal heir to the throne gets acquainted with Cinderella. In total, a girl and a playful young man meet three times: twice in the forest and once at a ball. They fall in love with each other, the main character loses a shoe, and then the movie "Cinderella" ends with the wedding.

The initial budget of the picture was 2 million kroons. However, later the director managed to find sponsors among German partners, who added another 1 million crowns. That's why the film filmed both German and Czech actors. At the same time, they all spoke the text solely in their own language. Later the film was duplicated.

During the filming, there was also improvisation. In the last scene, according to the script, it was planned that Cinderella and the prince would have to gallop on horses to the distance. However, on the day of filming so much snow fell out, that in the finale the prince's horse simply fell into a snowdrift. Therefore Pavel Travnacek had no choice but to look after the girl galloping forward.
