In 1941, on June 22, at 3:30 the fascists attacked the Soviet Union. The Great Patriotic War began. The Red Army has repeatedly argued that, despite the difficulties and sometimes even the hopelessness of the situation, the belief in one's own strength and the hope of victory can work miracles. The film shows the heroic spirit of a Soviet man who faithfully believed in his country and was ready to give his life for her freedom.

''Aggression''

The first part of the film shows life in Europe, Asia and the Soviet Union before the Second World War. The fascists are preparing to attack the Soviet Union and, upon learning about this, several Soviet spies are rushing to tell the news to Stalin. However, after hearing the message, he refuses to believe that Germany could violate the terms of the peace treaty. And this error, in turn, leads the Red Army to great losses and first defeats.

Zhukov, played by Mikhail Ulyanov, tries to convince Stalin and warn about the miscalculations they are making, but everything turns out to be unnecessary. The war begins, and everyone understands that the forces are on the side of the enemy. Then the heroic resistance and retreat of the Soviet troops are shown in the film. Battle of Smolensk and the withdrawal of troops from the environment, which commanded K.K. Rokossovsky - one of the brightest episodes of the film. The role of the army commander was brilliantly played by Alexander Goloborodko.

It is worth saying that the main character of the film is Georgy Zhukov. Mikhail Ulyanov was able to perfectly cope with the task, depicting a truly great commander. He studied a large number of historical sources, met with people who knew Georgiy Konstantinovich personally, in order to maximally accurately approximate the created image to a real historical figure. The second part of the epic film shows the viewer events related to the development of Hitler's grand operation to capture Moscow. An important role is played by scout Richard Sorge (Juozas Budraitis), who at the price of his freedom, and then lives, extracts information and informs that Japan can not be feared, since it will not oppose the Soviet Union.

This is important, since parts of the Red Army are being liberated, preparing for the war on two fronts. For Zorge himself, this step becomes fatal, as it is calculated and sentenced to death. The film excellently shows not only the military talent of the commander G. Zhukov, but also the heroism of ordinary soldiers, thanks to which the Red Army was able to liberate Moscow from the fascist troops.

Hitler in the film was played by the German Achim Petri, who in fact had some external resemblance to him. This role in the film is nominal, but the actor's talent Petri conveyed to the viewer exactly what the director wanted to say about the supreme commander-in-chief of Germany.

The feat of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was presented to the audience. In the "Battle" the role of the girl was performed by Irina Shmeleva, who managed to pass all the hardships that fell on the shoulders of a young tenth-grader.
