The drug Polidexa, the instruction informs, is issued in the form of a spray (nasal) or ear drops.

Active active components of the medicament are: polymyxin sulfate, neomycin sulfate, phenylephrine hydrochloride and dexamethasone sodium metasulfobenzoate. Among the auxiliary substances are the following: lithium chloride, citric acid monohydrate, methylparaben, polysorbate 80, macrogol 400 and distilled water.

The "Polidex" medication describes the instruction as a transparent liquid that does not have color and odor. It belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of antibiotics.

The pharmacological properties of the drug is anti-inflammatory. It is used in otolaryngology locally. It has a harmful effect on gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, which are the source of infectious and inflammatory diseases, located in the paranasal sinuses or in the nasal cavity.

The drug Polidex (the instruction contains this information) is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, sinusitis.

Contraindications to the use of the medicament in question are the following:

- simultaneous administration of MAO inhibitors;

- diseases of a viral nature;

- Suspicion of the presence of a closed-angle glaucoma;

- failures in the functioning of the kidneys, characterized by albuminuria;

- the period of gestation;

- lactation;

- the patient's age is less than two and a half years;

- individual intolerance of substances present in the formulation.

Spray "Polidex" is used by adults for three to five injections into each of the nostrils for five to ten days. For children from two and a half to fifteen years is shown no more than three injections in each nostril. The duration of treatment is the same.

When using a medicine in the form of drops, it is recommended to dig in from one to five in each ear canal twice a day for six to ten days.

Immediately before the procedure of using the drug it is recommended to warm up the container, holding it for a while in the hand. This will help to avoid unpleasant sensations, accompanied by the ingestion of cold medicine in the ear.

Also, before the start of therapy, it is necessary to check the condition of the tympanic membrane. If it is perforated, do not use the medication.
