On sale there are 2 types of drug "Drontal" for dogs. They differ in dosage, the spectrum of action and are assigned depending on the age and weight of the pet. Thus, Drontal Plus, which has a taste of meat, contains one pyrantel-embonate (144 mg), febantel (150 mg), praziquantel (50 mg), auxiliary substances in one tablet (660 mg). Tablets have a brownish color and 2 separation grooves in the center. In one package of the drug "Drontal" for dogs there are 6 tablets.

Actively acting substances of this drug exhibit synergism of action and have a disastrous effect on all on tape and round helminths. When taking Drontal for dogs, praziquantel is absorbed by such parasites all over their surface very quickly and evenly penetrates into their tissues. Therefore, the worms quickly come to damage the shell and then reduce it, which leads to paralysis of parasites. Praziquantel causes disturbance of the metabolism of helminths. Pirantel leads to spastic paralysis of parasites with a neuromuscular depolarizing blockade. All parasites are excreted from the body of the dog during a natural emptying without any complications.

The drug "Drontal" for dogs, the instruction to which clearly enough describes the dosage depending on the weight of the pet, is used to treat dogs once in the morning feeding. Usually the doses are calculated as follows: for 10 kg of weight, one tablet should be taken. The drug "Drontal Plus" is sometimes prescribed to puppies.

Dosage of the drug with a different weight of the animal in kilograms:

• Up to 1,9 - 0,25 tablets;
• 2-5 - 0.5 table;
• 6-10 - 1 table;
• 11-20 - 2 tablets;
• 21-30 - 3 tablets;
• 31-40 - 4 tab;
• 41-50 - 5 tab.
• 51-60-6 tab.

If the weight of the dog exceeds 60 kg, it is necessary to add 1 more more. For every 10 kg of the remaining weight. The drug in normal doses does not have any toxic effects on the animal's body. Complications and side effects during its use are practically not observed.

This drug is not recommended for use in the treatment of swinebirds in the first and second trimester of pregnancy.

Preliminary fasting with the use of this drug is not required. To prevent deworming dogs are carried out quarterly, before mating or vaccination.

The drug "Drontal Junior" - a homogeneous emulsion, which in 1 ml contains 14.4 mg of pyrantel, 15 mg of febantel, auxiliary substances. The medicine is produced in 50 ml vials together with a syringe dispenser, the capacity of which is 5 ml. It is used for the de-worming of small puppies from two weeks of age when infected with nematodes.

The drug is used for treatment once individually at a dose of 1 ml per 1 kg of the weight of the puppy together with the feed. It is better to take the drug in the morning. You can also inject it directly into your mouth into the root of the tongue right from the syringe dispenser. Before use, shake the bottle well.

For prevention, this agent is used as follows:

• In 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks;
• Then at 4, 5, 6 months.

The drug "Drontal" for puppies is well tolerated by all breeds of dogs and even a five-fold dose does not cause any complications and side effects.
