The device of floors in the bath - the main aspects of the floor of concrete

The device of floors in a bath can be executed with use of various materials. We will talk in more detail about the coating of concrete, its advantages and disadvantages.

Compared to wood, the installation of floors in a concrete bath is a more laborious and expensive process. On the opposite side of the scale, you can put a longer life, of course, with proper care. Another significant advantage of the concrete coating is the possibility of facing with tiles or stone (in a waiting room it is better to give preference to a tree). In turn, wood is a natural material, more pleasant visually and relatively inexpensive. It must also be taken into account that concrete is a cold material, which means that it requires additional finishing in the form of wooden grilles or cork panels.

The first important point, which includes the installation of floors in the bath, is the installation of water outlets. If the soil on which the construction will stand is sandy, then the pit is best digged under the washing - in one of the corners. Its depth can reach 0.5 meters. Once the pit is dug, it must be filled with gravel or crushed stone, and then perform a floor device. In baths of all sizes, a sewerage system must be installed in order to carry out water flow into the ground, in the basement of the foundation, several air vents must be made to remove odors and general ventilation. Another option for the preparation of sewerage involves the installation of pipes designed for the drainage of water. Thus, the water will be removed from the bath room to the street, and not into the ground. Pipes, as a rule, are removed to a specially prepared ditch. Preparation of the conditions for the disposal of used water is the last stage of the initial works, then it is possible to carry out directly the device of the concrete floor in the bath.

At the site where the laying is supposed, the soil is initially compacted with a slight inclination angle towards the discharge of used water. After completing the ramming, the ground is filled with crushed stone or gravel, while maintaining the predetermined angle of inclination. The thickness of this layer should be within 15-20 cm. Next, you can start pouring concrete. The device of floors in a bath means its pouring in two layers, between which the heat-insulating pillow is laid. The thickness of the first layer is approximately 50-70 mm, it repeats the given slope. After the final drying, the insulation is laid, which can be used as a felt, expanded clay or glass wool. Over the insulation, ordinary polyethylene film is applied. The final stage of the work is the pouring of the second layer of concrete solution (it is recommended to add perlite into the solution itself , this will increase the functionality of the finished floor) and again with the retention of the predetermined inclination angle for water drainage. Filling is done as carefully as possible, since the surface should be smooth. This is necessary in case you still decide to "refine" the surface with tiles. In this case, before laying it will be necessary to make the leveling screed.
