Nature

The name of the camp "Warm lakes on the Snowy" is due to three lakes nearby - Warm, Emerald and Fairy (or, as it is also called, Dead). Around these ponds there are mixed forests, which are famous for rare relic poplars. Some of the trees are so huge that their trunk can only cover four or five people at a time, holding hands.

The swimming season starts here in June and lasts until mid-September. In the warm season, the water in the lakes reaches + 25 ° C.

I must say that the velvet season, coming in September and October, amazes vacationers with an unusual transparent blue of the sky and a multicolored variety of autumn leaves. It quietly and smoothly falls directly on the azure surface of the lakes, in which the rich greenery of the coniferous forest is reflected, the snow-white clouds running across the sky, the golden foliage of birches and scarlet clusters of mountain ash. Here you can truly experience an amazing fusion with nature and complete peace.

Warm lakes

The reservoirs that gave the name to the recreation center "Warm Lakes on the Snowy", photos of which are simply fascinating with their beauty, were formed either by nature itself or with the help of people.

The Warm Lake was formed under the influence of glacial masses, which gradually slipped into the foothills. The other two reservoirs - the Emerald and the Fairy - can be called artificial. They appeared as a result of the development of a sand pit, when the construction of a railway was being conducted in these places.

Lake Teploe is located in the foothills of Khamar-Daban. The temperature of its water in the summer months reaches + 15-20 ° C, and in winter it drops to -20 ° C. The greatest depth of the pond is 12 m. The water here is so clean that tourists are used to drink it, arrived by "savages". There are a lot of fish in the lake, especially burbot, crucian carp and pike. Not so long ago, from the Altai lakes were brought crayfish.

The largest reservoir is Lake Emerald. Its maximum depth reaches 47 m. In summer, the water in it heats up to +25 ° C. Lake water is very useful for swimming. It can also be drunk, but only after boiling. The last 30-40 years, here systematically bred fish. Now in the lake there are burbot, crucian and pike.

Lake Skazochnoe (or Dead) is named so because it practically lacks any aquatic organisms, vegetation and fish, since it is soda. But, nevertheless, it is useful to bathe in it. In summer, the water temperature reaches +25 ° C, and in winter only up to 0 ° C. In the cold months, the Fairy Tale completely freezes because of its shallow depth - it is no more than 2 m.

Mountain hikes

I must say that even the summer can be very unstable weather on the Khamar-Daban mountain itself. "Warm lakes on Snezhnaya" is a recreation center, which organizes absolutely safe ascents to the Monomakh Cap, Love Peaks and Taltsinsky Mountains.

The mountain received its name because of its pyramidal shape, which reminds one of the main symbols of the Russian autocracy. Its height is 685 m.

Climbing occurs on the eastern slope, where a special path is laid leading to the top of the mountain. At first the path runs along an uncomplicated stretch of serpentine, the rest is a rather steep ascent. The ascent takes 30 to 60 minutes.

The top of the mountain The Monomakh's cap is a small observation deck. From its height you can see how the Snezhnaya River flows, Warm lakes, the foothills of Khamar-Daban, and even the waters of Lake Baikal! This hike is one of the favorite hiking routes for tourists on this base.

Taltsinsky Peak

Its height is 1806 m. The slopes are covered with lushly flowering alpine meadows. In addition, lingonberries and blueberries grow in large numbers here, which attracts locals who love to collect these berries. The peak is near the camp site and for 40 years now it is very popular with mountain tourists.

Recently, the Taltsinsky peak was chosen by adherents of active summer holidays - mountain bikers. In winter, it attracts mostly skiers and snowboarders in that there are significant differences in altitude and slopes with different slope of descent, as well as a large amount of snow. All these conditions contribute to excellent skating.

Accommodations

On the basis of the holiday "Warm Lakes on Snezhnaya" there is a comfortable hotel "Monomakh", where there are 8 well-appointed rooms, 4 of which are "luxury". The second hotel is two-storey and consists of the east and west wing. There are both comfortable and ordinary rooms with private facilities on the street. There are 3 single-storey log homes, where you can live in the winter. One of them stands on the shore of the lake.

In addition, there are well-maintained cottages, as well as 30 small one-story houses, where you can live only in the warm season.
