At the time of release, the system with these characteristics was not the most productive, so the real requirements for maximum graphics settings were slightly higher.

NSF 2011 was created on the game engine Frostbite 2, which the developers used in the shooters of the series "Battlefield". This project is the starting point for this engine in the racing series, so the creators faced a difficult task - to optimize the physical model for arcade driving.

Optimization in terms of performance also leaves much to be desired. When the graphics parameters were changed, the image itself changed little. The disappearance of textures, lags and so on remained unchanged. In addition, in the final version, a patch was added to limit the frames per second to 30. Therefore, even the most powerful computers could not be fully revealed.

For NFS The Run, the minimum system requirements are as follows: 2-core Intel processor or AMD with a frequency of at least 2.5 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, 512 MB of video memory and 18 GB for installation on the hard disk. The game runs perfectly on the operating systems "Winds-7" and newer.

NFS The Run: story

The writers came up with a simple story, which somehow explains the actions of the protagonist and in general everything that happens. Jack - a young driver who got into trouble and owed the bandits a huge amount. Miraculously survived and escaped from them, he meets with a friend who offers him to participate in a large-scale race across all states from west to east.

The main prize is 10 million dollars. However, more than 200 riders participate in the race, so the goal does not seem so simple. But Jack has nothing to lose, so he agrees to the conditions and immediately enters the race.

Mechanics and capabilities

Due to limitations in the history of developers could not make at least several different game modes. All races are a few variations of the sprint: for a while, with checkpoints, with the police, with rivals or dueling. Computer rivals are not too strong, so nothing prevents to enjoy the local beauties of NFS The Run. As you quickly sweep past cities along the routes, you do not have time to consider the locations in detail. But each of them is remembered separately: there are also mills with corn fields, and snow-capped mountains, and narrow night streets of Chicago, and much more.

The game features a large selection of cars, which can be changed right in the course of racing at gas stations. This is a rather interesting decision, given that there is no garage or workshop in the game, as there is no any tuning. You have to be satisfied with the colors available and the standard tuning kits. There is no question of any modernization of engines.

The result

In addition to the short storyline campaign, you can try the strengths in a series of tests and compare your results with other players in the world. All tests take place on the same segments that are encountered in the NFS The Run scenario. System requirements for racing arcade hint at replacing the old computer. Otherwise, you can get forever missing textures and freezes of the game. And to spoil the impression of local graphics and landscapes in this way is not recommended.
