"Tamsulosin" preparation: instructions for use, price, reviews and similar.

"Tamsulosin" is a preparation of antidisuric action and is used as a symptomatic modulator of the process of urination with urological diseases caused by cellular neoplasms of the prostate of non-cancerous nature. The mechanism of the reaction is expressed in the gradual reduction of tension in the region of smooth muscles of the prostate gland, as well as in relaxation of the neck of the bladder. In addition, there is selective blocking of urethral alpha-1A-adrenergic receptors, which results in minimization of the consequences of obstruction, a natural consequence of adenoma development.

Pharmacological features of "Tamsulosin"

Absorption of active components of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract can reach 100%. It has been experimentally confirmed that the level of absorption increases in the case of taking capsules immediately after meals. The degree of absorption is proportional to the time elapsed since the drug was consumed (that is, linear kinetics takes place). The peak concentration of reagents in blood plasma is achieved after six hours (with a single dose of 400 μg). However, this time interval may vary depending on the age of the patient.

It is noted that with a course of five days' duration, the concentration of the components in the plasma increases by 60-70%. Tamsulosin hydrochloride slowly enters metabolic processes: assimilation is accompanied by the formation of stable metabolites, which are highly selective for alpha-1A-adrenergic receptors.

Indications for use

The drug "Tamsulosin" instruction for use classifies as an agent for the treatment of benign hyperplasia, expressed symptomatically (adenoma, dysuria, other diseases of the lower part of the genito-urinary tract).

Since clinical studies have not revealed any critical reactions when interacting with other substances of the said pharmacological group, there are no restrictions on the use of "Tamsulosin" as an auxiliary catalyst in drug-selective blocking of alpha-1a-adrenergic receptors.

Recommended dosage and method of use

Absence of an antihypertensive effect is a characteristic feature of the drug "Tamsulosin". The instruction for use states that there is no need to select a dose per se. It is enough to take 400 μg of the drug orally after breakfast (2 capsules / tablets with a mass of 200 μg each or 1 capsule / tablet with a mass of 400 μg). Moreover, this daily rate does not need to be adjusted, even if the patient has slight deviations in the work of the kidneys or liver. Nevertheless, the start of the therapeutic course should be preceded by an accurate diagnosis in order to exclude the possibility of prostate carcinoma. Rectal examinations are also mandatory throughout the treatment.

Capsules and tablets "Tamsulosin" should not be chewed - a violation of the coating can adversely affect the release rates of active reagents. Immediately after taking the drug is recommended to drink water. It is strictly forbidden to use "Tamsulosin" in the lying position.

Existing limitations and contraindications

The drug "Tamsulozin", the price for which, depending on the manufacturer and the format of packaging, varies between 400-1700 rubles, is intended exclusively for men. Therefore, studies on its effect on the fetus during pregnancy have not been conducted. For these tablets, only prescription leave is provided, that is, the diagnosis of "benign hyperplasia" should be made during the examination (with mandatory preliminary testing for oncology).

Among the contraindications - increased sensitivity to the components of the drug "Tamsulosin" (the instruction for use contains a detailed list of all the auxiliary reagents). It is highly undesirable to use this remedy for orthostatic hypotension and chronic kidney or liver disease (in such cases, the treating physician must evaluate the potential benefit from the appointment of Tamsulosin and determine the scale of possible negative consequences of the therapeutic course).

With regular admission, light dizziness is permissible, which are sometimes replaced by a semi-fainting condition. Drivers of vehicles and workers, whose professional duties are associated with the threat of injury, should be more careful when using this substance.

Side effects

As with any other medication, side effects are also present in the drug "Tamsulosin" (the price of masculine health is high, and allergic manifestations are insignificant, so it is not worth considering side reactions as a significant disadvantage).

In parallel with the health effect may occur:

  • headache;
  • Irritation of the skin;
  • Prolonged diarrhea;
  • Cardiac arrhythmias;
  • Pain in the pelvis.

Sometimes "Tamsulosin", analogues of which are widely represented on the market, causes insomnia in patients, or, on the contrary, excessive drowsiness. In single cases - temporary stool and weakening of the potency.

Overdose, its manifestations and neutralization

Symptom of overdose, which resulted from taking the drug "Tamsulosin" (instructions for use warns about this), there may be pronounced acute arterial hypotension. And although the probability of such a scenario is extremely small, the algorithm of rendering assistance is still made:

  • Immediately give the patient a horizontal position;
  • If necessary, to carry out a set of measures aimed at normalizing the work of the cardiovascular system of the body;
  • Perform a check of the kidney function (connection of the device for artificial blood purification is inadvisable, since the active substance is perfectly associated with the protein compounds of plasma);
  • Cause vomiting in the patient, in order to stop further absorption of reagents (gastric lavage with concurrent use of laxatives is also relevant);
  • In the absence of the dynamics of improvement of the condition, use medicamentous agents that stimulate blood circulation.

Drug interaction: the nature of the reactions

"Warfarin" and "Diclofenac" qualitatively influence the rate of withdrawal of the drug "Tamsulosin" from the body (the price of the medicine is considerable, but the result is worth it). However, long-term observations regarding the joint use of these medicines in hospital settings have not been carried out, and therefore it is recommended that extra care be taken. "Atenolol" and "Enalapril" do not interact with this substance, "Cimetidine" promotes an increase in the concentration of "Tamsulosin" in plasma, and "Furosemide" gives an absolutely opposite result.

The process of lowering blood pressure, provoked by medication, can be strengthened by the parallel use of other alpha-1A-adrenoblockers in either diuretics or anesthetics. The instruction on the use of the drug "Tamsulosin" on the pharmacological kinetics of the free fractions of "Diazepam" and "Chlormadinone" is not specified by the application instruction (the price of the above funds is 500-1400 rubles).

Storage conditions and shelf life

On the storage conditions of the drug "Tamsulozin" the instruction informs the following:

  • Safe temperature regime - 15-25 degrees Celsius;
  • The optimum humidity is 70%.

A mandatory condition is the storage of the substance in the original factory packaging (out of reach of children, which is well protected from direct sunlight).

When carrying out all the instructions, the manufacturer guarantees that the therapeutic effect of "Tamsulosin" will not weaken within two years from the moment of its release.

"Tamsulosin": reviews of doctors and patients

Therapeutic therapy with the use of this drug, as a rule, is successful and is expressed in the regression of manifestations peculiar to non-malignant neoplasms of the prostate gland.

After about 90 days, the symptomatology is reduced by 2 times, and the first noticeable shifts are already observed on the 14-21 day. At the end of the course, the symptom score falls by 75% (compared to the start-up phase), which is certainly an acceptable result.

The excellent tolerability of the drug "Tamsulosin" (instruction, price and the most common generics are presented above) makes it very convenient to use when prescribing treatment to patients. However, to achieve the maximum potential effect of the substance is not enough, therefore, parallel therapy using other methods and pharmaceutical products is recommended.
