Stromanta is a houseplant belonging to the group of maranthives. It is very often confused with kalatei because of very similar leaves. This houseplant does not like drafts and dry air, it just needs high humidity.

Stromant, care at home for which is carried out correctly, has a light green color of the leaves with darker in color streaks. Yellowing or beginners to dry leaves, as a rule, speak about too dry air in the room.

Temperature conditions

The best temperature for this plant should be constantly within 20 degrees. The stromant does not tolerate sharp changes in the temperature regime and can get sick from them.

Humidity

The plant needs to create such conditions under which the humidity of the air will be very high. Daily spraying will only benefit him.

Lighting

The flower of the stromant should be placed in the penumbra, in no case should it be allowed that the plant is somehow exposed to direct sunlight.

Watering

In summer, the plant should be watered about once every 3 days, avoiding drying the land. In winter, watering is done once a week. Water for irrigation should be at room temperature.

Stromant, care at home for which is carried out properly, has a strong root system, and therefore easily tolerates both transplantation and reproduction by dividing the bush.

It is better to transplant every two years. The pot should be used not deep, but wide, as the root system of the plant develops shallowly under the ground: in width. Soil is preferable to use a special one, for the manant species.

The main problems in caring for the plant are the yellowed or drying ends of the leaves. The only reason is insufficient air humidity. Sometimes novice growers make a mistake and place the plant near the heaters or batteries. This should not be done. Stromant quite enough warm place on the windowsill.

Yellowing of the leaves can also indicate a lack of moisture in the soil. In this case, the plant should preferably be placed on a pallet with wet pebbles or sand.

A very large problem for the stromant can be a spider mite. It is not difficult to get rid of it - it is enough to wipe the leaves with water, in which a drop of dishwashing agent is added.

Sometimes the plant is affected and such a pest as a mealybug. In this case, the leaves are wiped with cotton wool soaked in alcohol, severely affected areas are removed. Pests are dangerous because if you do not notice them in time, they will spread very quickly, and this will lead to the twisting and falling of leaves in such a plant as a stromant.

The species of this flower are quite common, but most often you can meet "Stromantu pleasant". It is less demanding on the conditions of cultivation and rather well takes root.

Stromant, who is courted properly and accurately, does not cause trouble to its owners, but only pleases them with its luscious green foliage and decorative appearance.
