These flowers are known for a long time, they are mentioned in the XVI century, when their cultural cultivation began. In the Viennese royal garden, a certain professor Karl Klusius first planted outlandish bulbs. The mild climate of Europe fell to the taste of this plant, and its worldwide triumphal procession began. Naturally, the flowers of the imperial hazel grouse came to Holland - the center of floriculture. There they conducted breeding works, and in the middle of the 18th century the main 12 varieties of this beautiful plant appeared.

Flowers of the imperial hazel grouse belong to the onion plants. The bulb of this flower is not quite ordinary. Firstly, it is quite large and can weigh 0.5 kg. Secondly, it has a through hole, which is not a defect. The fact is that from the maternal bulb shoots grow and gradually around him he forms a new bulb. When the seasonal vegetation is over, the shoot itself dies off and in the young bulb leaves a hole in which 1-3 buds appear in autumn. Flowers of the imperial hazel grouse can grow to 1.5 m, have one powerful and direct shoot. The leaves of the plant are broadly lanceolate, forming a lush bush at the bottom of the shoot. At the very top of the escape, too, there is a bunch of leaves, which is usually called the crown, although many call it a chub. And it is under the upper bundle of leaves are located inflorescence, usually with six flowers.

Flowers of the imperial hazel grouse from winters wake up very early and quite violently. Only just the snow comes down - and the plant begins to grow rapidly. In two weeks it will already reach its high grade growth. At this time the primroses are still just awake, and the "emperor" has already taken his place and prepared for flowering. Thus, hazel grouse flowers never require special attention. But if you still spend a little time on them, you will get a real decorative masterpiece on your flower bed. You just need to know that this flower should be protected from the north wind, and he likes penumbra, also it is very good for root dressing. Foliar concentrated fertilizing is best not done, it can cause a burn on the leaves of the plant. It is also not advisable to loosen the soil around it, since it is possible to damage closely located roots to the surface. Loosening should be replaced by mulching, this will help in the hot weather to protect the soil from drying out and overheating. For the winter, the plant is best covered with reeds, lapnik or straw. The layer should be at least 30 cm, but do this after the stable frosts come, so that the mice do not settle in the shelter. Early in the spring it can be removed, and the imperial hazel grouse will delight you with a majestic bloom.
