Stadium "Rubin" in Kazan. History of construction and main characteristics

Russia won the right to host the final stage of the football world championship in 2018. By this time our country will have to prepare a number of construction projects. In this connection, the construction of a large sports facility in Tatarstan, Kazan Arena, is of great importance. The stadium has a universal football purpose. The local club "Rubin" conducts its home matches. The infrastructure of this facility meets all the requirements for servicing sports events of international level. Therefore, the stadium "Rubin" received the opportunity to host the World Cup 2018.

Start of construction

On May 5, 2010, a solemn ceremony took place, on which the first stone was laid in the basis of the future "Kazan Arena". It was attended by the then Chairman of the Government of the country, V. Putin. In his speech, he noted the important role that the stadium "Rubin" should play in the fight for the 2018 World Cup. Since the beginning of work, the construction site has been repeatedly inspected by representatives of FIFA.

The stadium project

The construction site was chosen in the Novo-Savinovsky district of the city between Yamasheva Avenue and ul. Chistopol. The project was worked by specialists of the architectural bureau called Populous. At that time they already had a rich experience in creating such structures. They are credited with the creation of London facilities: Emirates and Wembley. In Russia, the company Populous is also known for its work on the project of the Sochi stadium "Fisht", which became world famous after the Olympics. The construction in Kazan according to the authors' intention was to embody all the trends of modern architectural thought. The arena with its contours is like a water lily. The photo of the new stadium "Rubin" displays its smooth smooth features. Such an external appearance should harmoniously enter the arena in the local landscape of the Kazanka River embankment.

Main characteristics

The Rubin Stadium is designed for 45,105 spectators. The stands are divided into four sectors (two frontal and two angular). For each sector, for its own convenience, its color is displayed, which is displayed on the corresponding index and elements of the entrance decoration. The northern one has a blue color, the western one is green, the east one is red, the southern one is yellow. The stands are under the roof, the field is under the open sky. Its dimensions are 105 × 68 m. The Rubin stadium is equipped with the largest media facade for the football facilities HD format. The screen includes three plasma panels, the total area of which is 4.2 thousand square meters. The latest technology allows you to broadcast a bright picture of high quality. "Kazan Arena" became the first stadium in Russia, where Wi-Fi is provided free of charge.

Universiade-2013

In 2013, the stadium "Rubin-Arena" was chosen as the main sporting object of the Universiade. The photo demonstrates the massive structures that were erected specially for the solemn ceremonies. Their total weight was 470 tons. The top part of the building was crowned with a bowl for a fire weighing 6 tons. Undoubtedly, the Universiade in Kazan will go down in history as one of the most spectacular in organization.
