Snowmobile "Buran": technical characteristics, fuel consumption, price and photo

Snowmobile "Buran" is a domestic snowmobile. It can be said that this is a legend of Soviet industry. It belongs to the class of so-called utilitarian snowmobiles intended for work. The "Buran" snowmobile is produced, the photo of which is presented below, in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region. He first appeared on the assembly line in 1971. Since then, its design has not changed at all.

Snowmobile "Buran", the technical characteristics of which cause a lot of positive emotions, are built entirely in Russia, by domestic engineers, on our units. It exists in two versions: a short-base and a long-bore.

Prehistory

In the postwar period, residents of the northern regions of the USSR and Siberia were in dire need of a small transport capable of overcoming any snow congestion. The result of the development of Soviet engineers was the snowmobile "Buran". The technical specification of the engine of this vehicle allows you to learn many things about the developments of that time. The predecessor of the "Buran" became aerosleighs, which were used even before the war in the Red Army. But the founder of this type of transport is the firm Bombardier.

Engine and fuel

The Buran has a two-stroke engine. A successful design has allowed it to exist for almost four decades and without special modifications to reach our days. It operates on an oil-fuel mixture. Gasoline is poured along with the oil. No separate lubrication system is provided here.

Access to the engine compartment is very convenient. Everything is very simple. It is enough just to open the hood of the snowmobile, and you can get it to any unit. The engine compartment is very large. It should be noted that the hood is attached very conveniently and is fixed with two rubber bands. On the top of it there are wide air intakes. They serve for a good air cooling engine, which produces 34 horsepower. The maximum speed is about 60-70 km / h. "Buran" has a disk brake system.

The fuel tank is large enough and is located in front. If to compare with the car, then it is in place of the radiator. Capacity - 35 liters. Snowmobile "Buran", whose fuel consumption is about 15-20 liters per 100 km, can be called a very voracious unit. Gasoline is used by AI-92. Fills with oil. Diluted 1:50 - for 50 liters of gasoline 1 liter of oil. It is used the same as in imported chainsaws. The hatch for refueling the snowmobile is in front, under the headlight.

Body and transmission

Behind the hood is the dashboard and the driver's seat. In the double version, the seat of the passenger is located behind it. Behind him for a backrest. Under the sidus there is a battery and a luggage compartment, impressive for its size. Therefore it is better to buy a long-life snowmobile "Buran". The technical characteristics of the transmission are as follows: a variator box, only two speeds, front and rear. There is also a neutral position.
At the rear is a blockade and a towbar, to which you can attach a sleigh. Dimensions of the snowmobile are small, which makes it very compact and convenient for transportation.

Chassis

On the instrument panel is located the speedometer, the regulator of the dipped and high beam. The accelerator is located on the right handle of the rudder, near the brakes for the two caterpillars. There is one ski in front, which provides the controllability of the snowmobile. It has a suspension that is an inverted spring. It is taken from some domestic car. Two caterpillars give good cross-country ability. Much better than some expensive, imported snowmobiles. This is advantageous for him from foreign competitors.

Snowmobile "Buran", the price for which is much lower, can compete with Yamaha or Polaris. But still one ski significantly worsens the maneuverability of the snowmobile. For a turn it is necessary to do some maneuvers. By this, he lags behind his competitors. Especially it's not very comfortable on ice.

Start of movement

The engine starts very conveniently. It is necessary to translate the position of the ignition lock to the on mode, push the "suction" and pull the trigger cord. It is located right below, under the steering wheel. Everything starts. By the way, ignition locks are used from cars "GAZ", so in the event of a breakdown there will be no problems with the search and compatibility of spare parts.

There is also a complete set with a starter, but they often have problems associated with a permanent discharge of the battery and with the eternal "burning" of the domestic starter, which is used from one of our cars. To start the movement, it is necessary to move the transmission knob to the desired position: forward or backward. Then it remained only to press the accelerator lever. The snowmobile "suffices" at once. He has very good "bottoms".

The result

An indispensable technique in the vast Siberian expanses is, of course, the snowmobile "Buran". The technical specification of the transmission allows it to overcome even the most impassable snow congestion. Its additional advantage is a large trunk, which is very useful in the taiga, when every piece of free space is worth its weight in gold. This will accommodate a lot of fish, additional fuel or supplies. Also there is enough room for spare parts, as it is still a technique, and it sometimes breaks down.

Therefore, a good solution for conquering the domestic snowy expanses is the snowmobile "Buran". The price for it is the lowest of all models on the Russian market. True, there is an eternal problem of domestic technology - this is the quality of the assembly, but this is a completely different story.
