New dashboard by tuning the old

Almost every motorist who is the lucky owner of a domestic car, probably thought about how the dashboard with tuning might look like. There can be a lot of various options, the choice of which depends on a number of factors, the most important of which are the taste and preferences of the owner.

Tuning the dashboard is a fairly complex process that begins with the removal of plastic, which closes the necessary elements. The removed panel can be placed on the table (this will make the work more convenient). The tuning procedure will require the following:

- soldering iron (in this case, the ability to solder and a certain knowledge of the electrical, too, will not be superfluous);

- insertion into the dashboard (at the owner's choice); It is important to understand that the panel should be illuminated (that is, the numbers and symbols on the panel should be clearly visible);

- ultraviolet light, the length of which clearly coincides with the required parameters (such lamps are sold in computer stores);

- wires (they can be the most common, power is not exactly required);

- bulbs with cartridges (they should be the same as those already equipped with a dashboard);

- any glue and fluorescent marker

Well, you can go directly to tuning. It is necessary to remove the glass and plastic around them, and then the arrows and the regular insert. If there are no holes in the new insert, then they should be done (the size of the gaps should be slightly larger than the nominal model, which will avoid "sticking" arrows).

Now you need to carefully remove the standard light, pull out the board with the lamps (in its place will then be connected to the neon illumination). The neon lamp should be gently glued to the panel from above instead of the regular one, and the plastic protection should be fixed from above. After this, it is required to check the structure for strength.

Next, it is necessary to secure the neon lighting control unit with glue or double-sided adhesive tape. It should be connected to the place where there was previously a standard illumination, always observing the polarity. If there are no poles on the board, they will have to be determined empirically. Now the dashboard can be connected to the machine to check if everything is working. If the polarity is correct, you can see the highlighted arrows.

Illumination of the instrument panel is done with the help of light bulbs, which require two per device (for the speedometer you need a pair that can be connected with wires, for this purpose small holes are made in the partitions, and the lamps are connected to the same location as the "neonka"). Here the polarity does not matter. But check the design for efficiency. If everything works, then you can attach an overlay. So you make sure that the result is in line with expectations.

Then you can put everything in place. The arrows should be stained with a fluorescent marker in several layers. Now it is appropriate to assemble the dashboard!
