"Sung Yong Kairon": reviews and review of the 2nd generation of cars

The Korean concern "Sang-Jong" does not cease to amaze the world with its new cars. Almost the whole range of SsangYong differs first of all with its unconventional design. There are no analogues to such models in the world. Due to this, the company is confidently holding on to the world market. Today we look at one of the most successful models of the Korean manufacturer, namely the second generation of "Sang Yong Kairon."

Photo and review of design

When looking at a photo of an SUV, an association with something unusual and at the same time tempting arises immediately. "Sang Yong Kayron" due to its unusual design really seems so bright and, most importantly, an unforgettable crossover. To get lost with him in a crowd of cars just will not succeed. One of the main details inherent in all cars of this brand is unusual optics. In our case, the "Sung Yong Kairon" of 2013 has the following form. A block of main light headlights, made in a triangular shape, harmoniously combines with the chrome grille, slightly narrowed vertically and widened horizontally. Triangular lines of headlights successfully continue in the relief hood, which smoothly switches to a large windscreen.

One of the main advantages of the new crossover "Sang Yong Kairon" (reviews of motorists, too, note this point) is its almost 20-centimeter clearance. In the first generation, it was also considerable, but how many occasions when the Asian manufacturers purposely lowered the ground clearance (even for all-wheel drive SUVs) in order to appease the attention of the European public. Perhaps in Germany and France, they are well established, but in Russia the situation is different. It is not customary to go for glamorous "parkets". And although the "Sang Yong Kayron" of the 2nd generation belongs to the class of crossovers, our drivers do not consider it to be passenger. He confidently stands next to the all-wheel drive off-road cars, and not only externally, but also in terms of engines.

Sang Yong Kairon: technical specifications

Under the hood, "Kairon" always had powerful engines, and the emergence of the second generation was no exception. Since 2007, the Korean manufacturer equips its off-road vehicles with an entirely new engine line. It includes a four-cylinder petrol unit with a capacity of 2.3 liters (150 horsepower), as well as a two-liter diesel engine with 141 horsepower. Both engines are distinguished by their economical fuel consumption and low noise level. Six-step "automatic" and five-step "mechanics" - that's what the transmissions are for the second generation "Sang Yong Kairon." The owners' feedback confirms the fact that the automatic transmission modes can be switched by means of small buttons on the steering wheel. This makes the crossover control more comfortable and less tedious.

Sang Yong Kairon: reviews of the cost

As for the price, sharp jumps in it with the advent of the new generation Ssang Yong Kyron domestic car enthusiasts have not noticed. The price category of the SUV has remained the same. In the basic configuration, it costs 799 thousand rubles, in the top - 960 thousand.
